Even I've said bad things about them was I annoyed with the data breaches ? Yes of cause I was. I could easily stopped paying, got my girlfriend to take a contract out in her name and said she just moved in.

However sat down and thought what i get from them. Broadband speed that is slightly faster than advertised, unlimited phone calls, sky channels, a galaxy s6 ( I have Ccj 100s of defaults and owe banks roughly 60 thousand all together ) So in reality no would give me a £2.50 mobile contract. all together that comes to 47.50 month.

They are not devil's people make them out however understand people's hesitation.

A few more leaked pictures and video of the S7. No USB C but it has Micro SD card support and water resistance. Still looks like a sealed battery.

Don't know howe they'd waterproof it if it had a removeable battery..

The Galaxy S5 had a removable battery and was water reistant unlike the S6 which had a non removable battery and wasn't water resistant

They managed it with the Galaxy S5

Like the Xperia phones now, it seems that a waterproof phone supposedly shouldn't be submerged in water.

In other words, they're 99% sure it will be okay but the 1% chance means they won't want to honor any warranty claims, so will add in a silly disclaimer.

Aren't some saying water "resistant" rather than water proof? So you can take it in the shower, or splash it, but not actually submerge it...

Sony started with the water resistant marketing, then gradually got more confident and the marketing showed photography and video recording underwater. Heck, they even had an app to stop the touch screen causing problems when used underwater.

Then the overheating issues on Qualcomm chips caused the side effect of softening the glue, which made it possible for water ingress. Suddenly Sony said not to use the phone in water!

I suspect the S7 is going to be the same. As in Samsung can't guarantee it to be as resistant as the marketing bods would like to promise.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 had/has a removable battery and SD card slot, yet retains its water resistance.

As a comparison, the S6 had none of the features listed - no SD, no removable battery, no water resistance.

If I needed a new phone right now, and I had to choose a Samsung, I'd go for the S5, and update the OS.

The gadget whore side of me is looking forward to the S7 reveal, especially as I can upgrade in a few months. But Samsung or another manufacturer will really have to pull something out of the hat for me to upgrade from my Note 4.

From what I read elsewhere from someone who has used one for a bit, the Samsung 'experience' is once again a reason many people will hate it.

One thing I hate about samsungs compared to iPhone is their buttons on the screen. It's so easy to accidentally press something when you don't mean to. I much prefer the iPhone physical home button for example

But I'm still a gadget whore and will probably look at getting an s7 or an s6 edge even if the prices are too expensive for s7

Samsung phones have a physical home button, what are you talking about.

Yes sorry I means the back button

I dislike a physical button. I know why Samsung still uses them, but wish they'd stop.

It took long enough to change the menu button for recent/running apps, but that just demonstrates the limitations of physical keys. If Android should change things in the future, it all gets messed up again.

It's not a major issue though, in the grand scheme of things.

The back button is also off-screen.

On the note 4 at least it's on the screen and not a physical button which means accidental presses are common

It feels more like a Samsung s6.5 rather than a 7 to me...

Looks like the S7 is getting its SD card back, and bring water resistance back from the S5:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-35625058

Quote:
“The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge both accept MicroSD cards, allowing their storage to be expanded, and can also be submerged underwater.

Both phones:

now accept MicroSD cards with up to 200 gigabytes of storage, which fit onto the same tray as their SIM cards
have higher capacity batteries - the S7 Edge can reportedly play up to 15 hours of high definition video on a charge
have IP68 water resistance ratings, meaning they can be safely immersed to depths of 1.5m (4.9ft) for up to 30 minutes
have an "always on display" function that shows notifications and the time without needing to wake the screen up”

Though I've just noticed that Samsung are having an "always on display" for notifications/time etc - isn't that what LG are doing with their G5?

In my opinion, it looks like what the Galaxy S6 should have been. No water resistance? No removable battery? No SD card?

The S7 doesn't seem to have a removable battery either, but at least it has the SD slot and water resistance.

Now, the main question is, have Samsung sorted out the reception issues? From reports I have heard on the web (including on here!) the S6 wasn't as reliable in picking up a signal as other phones, including previous Galaxy's. And I hope they have sorted out their 2G/3G/4G thresholds, I mean, even my S4 does some weird things (switching down to 2G when 3G is readily available) and I heard that the S6 does the same, so lets hope that the S7 doesn't!

Not really worthy of an upgrade imo. I have the s6 and might just wait till the s8.

I mean the water resistance would be handy as well as the memory card slot, but that tiny bit of extra battery doesn't do it for me.

Quote "The firm has also added a "thermal spreader" to the phone's innards. This is a 0.4mm-thick tube of water that turns to steam, cooling down the processor, when required."

Mmm, inside a sealed phone?

3000 mah battery, nice.

I suspect it'll support wifi calling and maybe VoLTE at launch

EDIT: According to live chat VoLTE will be supported on it "as soon as the device launches" which sounds like EE are looking to have VoLTE public by 11th March to coincide with this? Or the agent has no idea what they're on about...
