Please can anyone help?

My girlfriends Iphone 5s is totally dead won't charge with her cable or mine..
Mine is working fine with the cables..

I've done a bit of research on this and people say lint build up can stop a connection being made, I have tried this and nothing..

Any suggestions??

Probably not much that can be done other than find a specialist who can take a look but given everythings soldered/glued to the board its not a sort of job for someone just to start popping the back off and going in.

Yeah I wouldn't even think of messing about with taking it apart

Taking it in is the only option by the looks of things..

You can tell if there's lint in there as the lightening plug should fit flush against the bottom of the phone. If it leaves a millimeter gap then there's probably dust and lint in there.
You can normally get it to connect temporarily by pushing it in really hard. If the battery is completely dead you'll have to hold it for a few seconds (maybe up to ten) before the dead battery symbol appears.
The lint gets really compacted at the bottom of the socket and it can be a pain to get out.
You have to scrape it quite hard.
Hopefully you haven't put anything metal in there or you could have shorted out the battery or the phone.
You need to find something rigid, thin and plastic and just scrape the bottom and then try to hook it out.

I get this problem all the time as the phone goes upside down in my pocket.
