X Factor Finale hits series rating high!

Since there's been many threads about XF's poor ratings this year, thought I'd make a positive one. An average of 8.4m watched last night's finale and a peak of 9.9m during the winner's announcement. Over 2m more than Saturday's show and 2m more than The Voice final. Not bad for a dying show eh?

The programme was on in the house for ID and Adela performances + there was bugger all else on last night.

Considering the level it's at this year, that's a figure to be celebrated.

That 5.9m was horrific and so random. The SCD clash can't have caused THAT anomaly.

Averaged across the two nights the final gets 7.15, a fair bit higher than The Voice's pathetic 6.3m. BGT got 11.704m

It would seen so.

Makes you wonder what the viewing figures might've been like had Adele not appeared.

I still think it says everything about X Factor this year when a 30 second teaser of a new Adele song grabbed more headlines than that particular night's whole episode of X Factor.

30 seconds of Adele > 90 minutes of X Factor

If you bothered to look at the breakdown you'd see that Adele delivered a small boost that would've done naff-all to raise the average.
Stop with the downplay

I watched a bit of it for Adele and just a bit of curiosity of seeing who made it to the end. It was hardly worth even that.

It's still way down on last year and was hammered by Strictly (10.8 million average).

Not surprising really 'Finales' always get most viewers of a series so none story really

Well, on one level it would seem to be natural that more people would want to see the actual result (Sunday) than what is more or less another semi final (Saturday), so the figure was expected to rise.
As for the Adele effect. it would have been interesting to see how, in an alterante version, the figures would have looked had she performed first. I would have expected a massive drop following her performance, hence why she was, predictably, at the end.

So really, yes, it was a series high viewing figure, but that's like saying Happy is the tallest dwarf

5.95 million for a final. Enjoy the last season next year folks. This show is done.

But 8.4m for the actual final. Making it one of the biggest commercial tv shows in 2015. Despite its lowering ratings a hell of a lot of people still watch the show. And it still makes a ton of cash for ITV and Simon.

Oh wow! X Factor has done so well.

Not.

It's a pathetic rating and ITV will not be happy with it.

Still about two million less than the Strictly results, which were pre recorded the night before and the results of which plastered all over the inernet for all to see.

ITV will do what they do with every failing show that is past it's prime.
Do a "revamp" by poaching some BBC talent.

Matt Baker and Alex Jones on the judging panel maybe.
Or even Mrs Brown and Mr Khan !!!
Anita Rani and Katie Derham to present maybe.

I believe Ola Jordan is free next year as well

8.4m? Were they all actually watching or were they so shocked at how bad it was to switch over to something better?

I would imagine that most people besides Cowell's family, friends and employees would care about him making "a ton of cash". I wonder if this account created in the last two weeks will post about anything besides praising X-Factor and bashing Strictly now the former has finished.
