Yeah I get that. I prefer real books too, not that I'm a big reader by any means. I guess you could read it on a pc too? I know there's a kindle app for the mac.

Not sure anything they do will get ratings up again. They could bring in the ghosts of Jacko and Elvis as judges and people will still prefer Strictly

At least he has the balls to stand up to Simon and co, but has had to put up with the backlash ever since. if more did then Simon would lose his grip on the media. But it comes with risk so few do. The public are beginning to work it out for themselves, particularly this year as the show has become a parody of its original self

I think he's a bit of an obnoxious arse but he says what is true, it's all a manipulative game of twaddle appealing to the lowest common denominator. Sadly Steve played the game himself in his early audition by appearing to be overwhelmed and innocent which he clearly wasn't

The way he's slagged off on here is enough proof that audiences either don't mind being made idiots of or they don't know they are being.

I remember that. I can't remember why he was banned but I definitely remember he and Rowetta used to post here and they did not like each other at all

Now I come to think of it there was an issue back stage between Rowetta and Steve. Think this was part of the background to Sharon rant. I remember one of the guys from G4 saying on TM I think that the issue hadn't just arisen in final. Sharon was still wrong to do what she did though.

If you get a copy, you'll know what to do with it.

I am currently reading his book and I have to say, he's giving a good account of himself.
I remember watching this series, warming to Steve. He had a soulful voice. I remember thinking how horrid Louis and particularly Sharon had been to him at the time.
It's not hard to imagine them manipulating situations to fit the "narrative" of a programme that was in its infancy, out to make a name for itself following the successful Pop Idol format.

I am certainly now looking differently at this tired format that does seem to regularly veer more to constructed reality tv rather than singing competition.

Call me silly, I believe Mr Brookstein.
Yes, he should leave it to one side now, if nothing else, holding on to this kind of hurt would be soul-destroying.

He needed to write it for himself. Hopefully its now given him some peace.

You go Steve!

I haven't read his book, but I would certainly be more inclined to believe him than Simon, Sharon, or Louis.

While Steve has a good voice and some legit points to make, his focus is stuck on him and the past, and the show being shady as does not excuse his attitude.

Sorry, Steve, but not everyone gets to be a superstar. I didn't, and I can sing circles around you with one vocal chord tied behind my back (Though I still managed to make it my joyful day job for many years by not being defeatist and entitled and instead finding where I fit and was happy as a person as well as an artist, oh yes, and being grateful, which as someone with a number one you should be regardless)
If you love music and performing, do it. Life is too short and beautiful and full of opportunity to wasts stuck on one little defeat.

You are wasting your time and life and talent being so bitter, and you could be speaking out for all artists treated shabbily, actually working to make shows accountable for how artists are treated and maybe making a difference and inspiring the public to make a difference, but instead it is all you you you...to you. Why not be an artist AND a champion of artists?

The deluded fanboys and girls love to slag Steve off. Can't you stand the truth?

It's not a case of not standing the truth, some people are tired of his hard-done-by whining attitude.
