For all the negativity expressed here...

...at least SOME of which I agree with, I have to say that I did see some moments in the finale that felt very genuine.

1.) Cheryl putting her skinny arms around Rita and giving her what looked like a genuine hug. There was no way Cheryl knew the camera caught that, because from their perspective at that point there was so much else going on, and the angle was odd.

2.) While the other contestants rushing the stage was almost certainly cued up in advance, I think their reactions overall looked honest.

3.) Unless Louisa is ready for acting awards, I think her own excitement and tears felt pretty real. Now she's got no idea what the Syco factory will put her through, but whatever else people toss at her (all the "boring" accusations and barbs at her charisma or voice), I think any accusations of her being or acting fake are total rubbish.

It probably didn't come across during the show, hence why some perceive her as devoid of any personality, but after seeing her in the post-win interviews she comes across as genuinely down to earth and switched on, and does have personality.

The judges know they are always on camera. ALWAYS.

It's all a conspiracy!

Be serious. There's a difference between an intellectual knowledge that they have to be constantly prepared and pre-planning something like a perfectly timed hug in the midst of a big crowd of people when the only cameramen in sight are behind rows of people in shot. Or are you suggesting they repeated the hug over and over again until the camera conveniently caught it?
