Wi-Fi adapter connected: what next?
My Panasonic TXL37S20B has an Ethernet port, but no Wi-Fi, so I bought a TP-Link TL-WA890EA adapter. I've connected it up and run a successful connection test on the TV, but how do I actually view the internet on it? There's no button on the remote that says internet or network, and nothing in the AV menu except Component and PC, neither of which shows anything. All the Panny/TP-Link instructions say is, basically, plug it in and you're connected.
I presume we're all now supposed to be genetically programmed to understand instinctively what to do, but unfortunately I was born too early and need something in writing. Any ideas, please? (Also, is there any way I can stream content from my PC to the TV using this item?) Thanks for reading. |

I'm afraid you may have wasted your money on the WiFi adapter. The ethernet port on the TV is basically window dressing as far as I can tell, it appears to serve no useful purpose that I can find anyway. The TV has no "Smart" features and nothing that would allow it to stream media over a network connection.
As would appear to be confirmed by this thread in DS from when the telly was newer. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1382039 |

Brilliant! Thanks anyway. So, have you any clue what is the point of the Network Setup menu, and why that page of the TV manual is titled 'Setup for Internet Services'?
And it is always possible that in the future the network port may be able to do something when connected to your home network or the internet - let's face it, Sky boxes have had network ports built into them for the past ten years or so, but it is only in the last five years that they've actually been capable of doing anything with them. |

It could be that the network connection is only used for firmware upgrades. Maybe Panasonic planned to add extra features in an upgrade sometime?
Only Panasonic can really answer that one. |
