Boybands haven't really succeeded on x-factor since 1d, Union J never made it that big and Stereo Kicks didn't last long. He could do with someone in the same vein of Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran or someone in the same vein as Ellie Goulding

They won't want another James, Matt, Ben....they might possibly accept a young winner like Joe or Shayne. Or, as the poster above says, a young r'n'b male. I can only remember one before - Nicholas (series 2)?

They will be launching Louisa, so won't want a girl winning.

But yes, another Boyband might be tried out. Either one already made (like Eton Road) or one put together (1D, Futureproof). But I think they will stick with the tried and tested four or five members.

Boybands are difficult to push as they don't appeal to the viewers. The rest of the contestants would have to be sub RnB to make it happen.

The alternative could be a man-band. They seem to do better in BGT & would appeal to the key voting demographic. Put four Cardle, Haenow, Brookstein & McElderry types together and have them sweep away all before them. It would be the perfect ending to the last ever X Factor series.

I really want a mixed group to have a good shot at winning. I had high hopes for Only the Young last year but I think the producers weren't really bothered about them and favoured Octopussy instead.

Best get Louis back as a judge then OP, as he is guaranteed to put together a talentless band with at least one member that cries his eyes out after a dodgy performance, but they get a record deal because the use of Autotune is worth it when they are likely to melt the hearts of brainless teenage girls.

There were two boy bands and twin boys who got through to six chair challenge but weren't shown. Perhaps they will return?

They will go all out to push either a boyband or Justin Bieber clone as the winner next year. Both are easy money and I'm sure Cowell is feeling confident about getting the "right" result after Louisa.

Not sure if they can - JLS were the closest (although I reckon they would have if Alex didn't have Beyonce as her duet partner).

Anyways, even though they are a girl group - after the first weeks results and the Saturday final performance, Little Mix set the bar extremely HIGH for groups.
