I may not have agreed with Peter having been saved, but it certainly wasn't his doing that the judges incomprehensibly chose to save him over Jamelia, and he had every right to continue in the competition for as long as the public and the judges put him through.

I still question whether Peter being saved that week was due to idiocy on the judges' parts or if it was due to some kind of agenda, but either way, he didn't deserve to be attacked the way he was. The sad thing is, if he'd just cut down on his other commitments during Strictly, he may have been able to produce a fantastic Jive that week. He wasn't a ringer but he wasn't a bad mover if only he'd made a bit more of an effort.”

I know the D/O is supposed to be about that one dance - I actually think between Peter and Jamelia it was close (closer than a lot will admit to). Peters jive was badly put together- not good choreography at all - he did what he could with it.

Jamelia just happened to perform her best dance that week. I don't think it was head and shoulders above Peters by any stretch - it was 'good for her'.

Taken on balance - Peter deserved to stay over Jamelia - she was well past her sell by date. Unfortunately Ola showed a really petty and spiteful side to her personality and stirred something up. The judges are there to judge - they judged Peter to be better than Jamelia - I think they were right.

Ola let herself down.

Agreed.

Peter had been consistently good, but he found the jive more difficult, and couldn't master the kicks and flicks, hence possibly being slightly underscored in light of the judge's disappointment.

Jamelia, conversely, had really improved that week, so the judges possibly slightly overmarked her in comparison.

When comparing the two dances one after the other, however, it's easier to be objective. While both had some technical flaws, Jamelia's was decidedly messy and Peter's was far more polished, so choosing Peter over Jamelia was a fair and just decision. Peter's dance was also really, really difficult.. It was too fast, frenetic and full-on throughout.. The melody comes in unaccompanied on a mid-bar half-beat, which presents a tremendous challenge for a dancer trying to find the beat in the middle of that, making it appear out of synch with the music even when in perfect time. In terms of difficulty, his dance was many times more difficult than Jamelia's and he absolutely deserved to be chosen over her.

I was relieved he left too ... Purely for the reason this forum became a much pleasanter place to hang around.

It was almost the levels of abuse Emma Bunton got the year she was a better dancer than the precious Mark Ramprakash. Some good and sensible posts in support of Peter Andre in this thread.

I like Peter, and I'm more than happy to accept that not everyone does, and I take on board all fair criticism. Much of what was written on these threads was not though. It was quite vile....about him, his wife, his family, his appearance, colouring, height....all couched in the nastiest terms, nothing was sacrosanct. If I had to read stuff like that about myself, I would be suicidal, which is why I really hope he didn't. He is a human being with all that that entails.

His dancing was vilified before he'd even taken a step, and yet up until the jive I thought he did very well, and could have gone much further. After that though, the nastiness was ramped up even more, and thanks to Jamelia and all the "fixed" stuff, I believe he had the stuffing knocked out of him, and was glad to go....in fact, he said as much in an interview this week.

I hope those people who seemed to get off on ripping him to shreds are proud of themselves.

I do kind of agree with some of that. I think Jamelia was screwed over, but I also think her reaction to it was trashy. Keep your airquotes and comments about overweight people to yourself, Jamelia.

Personally I didn't care much for Peter but have to say that some of the comments made about him were vile and completely below the belt.

I can hand on heart say I have never said anything vile or personal (or even negative that I recall) about him. I don't see how that benefits anyone, .... not the other contestants and not this forum as a whole either.

The ironic thing is that I see at least one person on this thread who is going on about how hateful the comments were about Peter and yet I saw similar nonsense being sprouted perpetually about another contestant. Does it not work both ways? Disparaging a contestant just because one prefers other contestants/another contestant is unnecessary and petty IMHO. It matters not if it is Person A or Person B.

Someone mentioned Ola looked uncomfortable on ITT and I had a look - and I agree she did, at least at first. I'm surprised Zoe didn't ask her why she was leaving - it kind of stuck out like a sore thumb, if you ask me. Plus they've never bid adieu like that to anyone else, have they? Camilla and Erin had been on a long time when they left - yet nada.

And Ola tweeted that she was very nervous on ITT:

Ola Jordan ‏@The_OlaJordan Dec 15

Thank you Tweeps for all your sweet comments
I was so nervous in my interview I forgot to say the one thing I really wanted to........

Ola Jordan ‏@The_OlaJordan Dec 15

I wanted to thank ALL of you for your continuous support over my 10 years on the show and to say I love you all from the bottom of my heart

Well I don't know what I'm going on about... mainly, I feel sort of sorry for Ola and feel like all this negativity comes more from James than from her - and maybe he thinks this is a way for them to build a tabloid-driven future career
