Is it outmoded? I just think it's 'making a family' - that's how families are made - every member with the same surname.

I guess it is 'outmoded' to some - it sort of makes sense to me.

Gosh you really need to learn some manners don't you? Imagine if someone was spouting such drivel about your family - I doubt you'd be happy!

Jo's critique was perfectly fair and entirely accurate, and it's no surprise she didn't lay into Kellie was much - Kellie performed much better than her fellow semi-finalists!

The amount of vitriol that's posted on here about the Cliftons really is just pathetic, there's not much else to say.

I dont see it as outmoded either . Its a very personal decision .

That would make sense as a reasoning if men sometimes chose to take their wife's surname to create a family with the same name - but this almost never happens.

It would avoid confusion and make more genetic sense for the man and any children to take the woman's name though.

I like Jo but imo her brother has an ego that is off the scale and his attention seeking is pathetic. When they showed that Video tonight its summed him up to a T front and centre of almost every show start how did he manage that it was on at least 8 different shows.

Kellie is short too - I don't think Giovanni is short. As a short couple it would be good sense to have them front middle wouldn't it?

The back row are up 3 steps. Surely that would be enough for him to be seen over anyone? By the time it gets to this point in the competition they are also spaced apart so could be seen wherever they are.

And obviously that's down to him and not, say, the floor managers.

The sticks some posters will find to beat people with...sheesh.

Not in almost every show, it would be different if they did not perform like Seals at SeaWorld every week when they are on the front row.

As a Jay fan, please stop. We get crapped on enough on these forums without you making them think they're right about us.

I think they're in the middle because they're the first couple called out each week and everybody fills up from the middle outwards. And I presume they're first because they were the first to dance in Week 1.

I would have thought it's all worked out to be aesthetically pleasing - they probably all have 'their place' from the first week on. It's all about camera angles and that - let's face it - he is quite short in comparison to the other dancers and consequently so is his partner.

If you were doing a large group photograph you'd go smallest front/centre.

I guess if you want to find a reason to dislike or a conspiracy around every corner it's quite easy - to most it really is just common sense.

Kevin has also grown on me - he works hard with his celebs and they all seem genuinely fond of him, so he must be doing something right.

As for them all having the same surname - I dont see why it matters. We have had two Cutlers, Two Bennetts ( or Kopylovas ! ) and two Jordans and various other Pros who are / were romantically linked.”

That's something I very much like in both Natalie and Karen. Neither of them gets mardy about being paired with a duffer. They're both usually very gracious and good-natured about it. Karen was very enthusiastic with both Hairy Dave and Jeremy.
