I took delivery of a new Panasonic CX802 today and set everything up except my Blu Ray player.
I can't get the player to play via my Yamaha AV receiver using HDMI. I have a cable from the player to the amp and a cable to the TV just the same as with my previous TV (Pioneer Plasma)...this always worked perfectly.

Anyone able to help with this?

Thanks.

Not familiar with the CX802, are all HDMI's 4k, can the HDCP setting be set as follows, Auto, 1.4, 2.2? If so, might be worth checking it's set on Auto or 1.4. I don't know if 2.2 setting will interupt playback.

Other than that and stating the obvious, are you selecting the correct HDMI input on the TV?

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I checked, It's set to auto.
I have HDMI cable in input 1 which is selected on the TV...I can see and play the Audio, eg, internet radio, I can see what channel is playing, but nothing if I select play on the Blu Ray.
It works if I connect directly to the tv and not through the amp.

One odd thing I noticed is that my Yamaha remote will change the input on the TV if I select a different input!

Are you getting the audio from the BluRay player playing through the amp, even though the audio and picture aren't then reaching the TV? If so, it at least means that you have selected the correct input on the amp.

If this isn't happening either then there's your problem - the TV will only play what the amp is forwarding to it, and if the amp isn't receiving the BluRay as input, it certainly can't pass it on as output.

Assuming you used a difference HDMI input when connecting the player to the TV, try plugging the amp into that input and see what happens.

To remove doubt from the remote interference, select input on the TV first, then select source on the amp manually.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me with this problem

I decided to swap out the HDMI cable as it was an old Sky one....problem solved

Thanks again, your effort is very much appreciated
