M and S Christmas party food.

I've had a glance at these over the last couple of weeks and resolved to buy some this week to test run but when I looked closely yesterday I just couldn't justify paying the hideously expensive prices they are asking. £7 or £8 for a few pieces of finger food! Even the ' hand crafted ' sausage rolls were £5 for 12. Is anyone actually buying these and if so , do you think they are worth it?

I'd imagine people are buying them otherwise why would M&S have them made to stock in their stores?

You are paying for the convenience of not having to spend time in shopping for the ingredients yourself, going home and then start making them, using your power to cook them, using more power to heat the water to clean and wash-up all the equipment once finished.

Personally I don't think the prices are too exorbitant. Just think you would be able to just sit back and think ...phew the foods all prepared!!!

I am a fan of M&S food in general, even if sometimes it is a little bit more expensive. The party food you mentioned. I have had a look at them and I agree they are quite expensive for what they are. Morrisons have very similar items for half the price and I'm sure they are just as nice. I have got some of it on order due next week.

Believe it or not, Iceland's party food is nicer than M&S.

I vote for the co-op re affordable party food.

The M&S belly pork squares are lovely. I bought 2 packs for a Boxing Day buffet... Both have been eaten already

Things like sausage rolls, etc I am just getting from whatever supermarket I do my main shop in. Frozen sausage rolls are the best imo. Lovely when they come out of the oven all hot. Just have to try and not burn your mouth sneaking one in.

I love M and S food but the party food is way too overpriced for me.
I'll make it myself for less.

The M&S party food was half price the other day. I recommend the salted caramel profiteroles.

Our local M&S seems to have gotten rid of most of its vegetables (fresh and ready made side dishes etc) in favour of meat in all its forms.

I pop into my local M&S most afternoons as they do a second reduction on food that will be past its best by date. I would never dream of paying full price. I have a freezer full of M&S curries and other ready meals.

They do great discounts on fruit & veg too.
