Didn't know that Austin is still bitter. If so, not surprised as I'm still bitter too.

Not only Austinwozrobbed, but Erinwozrobbed too.

Remember when they went out Erin really sobbing on Austin's shoulder on ITT and him passing her tissues.

Then who won - Tom Chambers - wish we could do an eye roll.

Why am I not surprised James Jordan sold the story to a tabloid? What a creep.

Re tabloid articles, some are too gullible to the press reports. But the claims being made, for money, are damaging the reputations of fine performers and will put off good celebrities performing next year, which is the tabloids intend to damage SCD and therefore damage the BBC, every thread opened on this subject here plays into the newspapers campaign, pity a few can't actually see that.

I'm sorry but she behaved like a diva on the show and actually the fact she was so annoyed at being voted off proved she loved the experience. She seemed pretty fond of Anton and I remember the music to her foxtrot she said reminded her of her relationship to her husband which although I thought was a royal pain in the bum generally I found rather touching.

Exactly this.

And similar to workplaces where they are working under high stress (eg nursing) a group of individuals who may not have much in common otherwise, form very close bonds by going through things together as it can seem that they are the only ones who can truly empathise with what you're going through (and understand). And be there to support you.

Sounds a bit dramatic (and dancing is hardly as stressful) but the experience itself - the highs and the lows, the intensity and fun of it as well as how much time they spend together, completing the challenges together encourages strong ties with each other (while the experience lasts at least). Of course there will be the odd bitch in the mix and an odd bitching session too, but overall I understand and believe the comaraderie. As a nurse, I can relate to it.

I am too but it's a different issue and actually I think after Austin went my support went to Tom - he was likewise stylish and unflavoured by the judges.

The bitterness of those who get booted out earlier than they think they should is a different issue to the one here. Actually to take Austin as a case in point it actually re-affirms SCD is a loving family as he and Erin obviously got on very well - he stood in for Anton at one point and his and Erin's pro show and during the show she babysat for him and his wife and his daughters loved it but wouldn't go to bed. I think he was at Erin's wedding too. Him and Tom had a rivalry going but it was a friendly competition thing similar to the one Matt DA had with Gethin - where he wanted to beat him but obviously liked him.

A lot of earlier than wanted to go bathers actually seemed to have enjoyed their time on the show.

Lynda Bellingham I think has admitted she hated it due to her own insecurities especially about costumes and blames no one else.

I'm not sure about Jessie Wallace - she could have been better supported but she doesn't actually seem to have thought that this was Darren's fault at least. Again it seems to be a problem with her own insecurities and expectations - I get the impression she was going through a bad time in her life at the time of SCD.

I'm not Darren's greatest fan but he's always been pretty supportive of his partners.

Actually I think he got on with Brendan at least at first and Brian Fortuna said that both of the Jordans had welcomed and be-friended him when he was on the show. I think he got on with both Matt DA and Gethin too. Of course he may have become more egotistical and harder to work with later on - a workman on the nice and nasty celebs thread on the showbiz forum seems to have had a bad time with him.

Yes, it is absolutely definite that of the 170+ contestants who have been on the show, every single one of them loved it, and the suggestion that even a handful of them might not have had the best time of their life is very definitely evidence of a lack of critical reasoning skills due to tabloid brainwashing. Faced with such incontrovertible evidence as 'they definitely all had the time of their life because they said so on ITT', I can't see how any counter-argument could possibly hold.

Does the 'P' in your username stand for Pollyanna?

Maybe I'm naive but there seems to be a great relationship between this bunch of pros and most of the celebrities seem to genuinely love the experience.

I know Alijaz & Janette and Kevin & Karen are all best mates and there was a lovely exchange between Kevin and Brendan on twitter the other day too.
