In Memory of Stuart Adamson

11 April 1958 – 16 December 2001

One of the most talented and highly regarded musicians of his generation.

'Stuart's guitar-playing left me feeling totally inadequate..... everything he did had venom' --The Edge

'If there is a player in heaven teaching guitar it will be Stuart Adamson' --Eric Clapton

wouldn't have described us as friends but met him a few times, he played golf occasionally at my local club and i played a few rounds with him

the skids were sort of my first musical interest being a local band even if i was only about 10 at the time

I can remember exactly where I was when I found out Stuart had died. Very sadly missed.

I read the book "In A Big Country" a couple of years back. It was a very interesting but obviously very sad read. I still miss Stuart, I didn't know him personally but I miss him. I saw Big Country at the Edinburgh Playhouse in 1983. Goes without saying it was brilliant. I played The Crossing until I just about wore it out.
