Amazon is full of far better choices for the same, or less, money.
Overpriced for £20 if there wasn't the swap service in every store.

Yes, something like this:

I have that very charger. Very easy to put in an inside jacket pocket and charges things very quickly.

Bargain at that price.

Yes, that's the one I have an it wasn't that cheap 12 months ago!

Have you all received texts about the recall? I've not officially been informed of the recall by EE. If I didn't hear about it on this forum, I'd be none the wiser.

Who would have bought one for £20? Low capacity and slow to both charge up and charge other devices.

It was good for free (besides text cost) and being able to swap for a fully charged one, assuming you were near a store, and it was okay as a torch, but otherwise it wasn't worth anywhere near twenty quid.

I bought a couple of EasyAcc power packs ages ago and they are both working solidly and reliably still. One is a 10,000mAh bank at 1.5A or 2.1A (dual output) and one is a 3,000mAh bank at 1A output. I bought them while they were doing a special deal - I paid £19.99 for the 10,000mAh pack and got the smaller one for free.

So yeah, £20 for a 2,600mAh power bank that only does 1A output (so barely enough to charge my S4 even once) isn't really that good value for money.

I expect it was put up at that price merely to make it seem like customers were really getting something of value.

Looks even more expensive when I paid £20 for a 22400mAh pack with triple outputs offering 2.4A, 2A and 1A simultaneously. .

That looks even better than what I got, it's a shame that something like that wasn't available at that price when I ordered my power banks off amazon!

At least with the EE powerbar scheme (that was happening until the recall), you could simply exchange a dead battery for a fully charged one. So no waiting for the thing to charge (my 10,000mAh pack takes nearly a day to charge).

Or to try to get customers to treat it with a little respect. If it was 'free' they would treat it poorly and expect another one for 'free' as time went on.

I'm beginning to regret returning them, all the others seem to have problems, such they pack up within a few weeks, or they're too big and heavy. The EE one was only 78g. Strange there isn't even one for sale on eBay.

They were rubbish. Hardly worth carrying, except to be used as a torch.

I did see one on eBay about a week ago but the listing was removed. Chances are because the person went to an EE store and got a voucher for it.

I've got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/EasyAcc-1000.../dp/B00H9BEC8E (there are newer versions of this) and it is very good. Manage to get at least two full charges out of it, sometimes nearer the 3 charges.

Is this to do with the EE ones? I haven't had any experience with the EE power bars but 1A output and only 2600mAh capacity isn't great for the latest phones.

My EasyAcc 3000mAh power bar that I have is only rated at 1A out and it is quite slow to charge my S4. I also struggle to get a complete charge out of it. So I assume the EE ones were slightly worse, due to the lower capacity. But they will save the day if your phone battery is at about 15% and you forgot to charge it, or you're going to be out on a long day and you know the phone's battery won't be enough.

Just re-reading the original EE offer and if you really wanted one and weren't an EE customer, you could buy one from them for £20.

Still looking for a good replacement. EE say How do I get a replacement? "At the moment we are fully focused on the recall and we will make further announcements soon."

Where's the popcorn emoticon?

If you really wanted one and wasn't an EE customer, you'd look on Amazon or eBay for cheaper alternatives that also hold more capacity.
