Apologies for slightly earlier thread this week, I won't be around from 6:00ish - late, so I'll be missing the interviews I shall be catching up on iPlayer though.
Not a great mix of final five candidates to be fair. He could pick any two and someone would've been unhappy. Oh well.

You had me worried there, I thought they'd messed around with the scheduling and I'd missed them...

From what we saw, Joseph. Considering he doesn't have a lot of interview experience he did really well. Was impressed when the first guy started asking him questions about Lord Sugar and he answered them all correctly, I thought he was going to make an ass of himself but was pleased to see him prove the guy wrong!

Vana did well in one or two of her interviews but was a little shaky at times. Richard got found out and he knew it, hence the grovelling in the final interview. Charleine showed tenacity and determination but it was pretty clear her plan wasn't going to work and she'd over extended herself. Gary was just not able to shake off the corporate label, Karen and Claude never seemed to be big fans of his anyway so he'd have had to pretty much be flawless in the interviews and have a solid plan.

I'm still routing for Vana and thought she handled all her questions and issues extremely competently and I think LS did too given she's in the final so I voted for her.

However, Joseph nailing that surprise "Lord Sugar Book Quiz" had so much potential to go spectacularly badly for him and the fact he got all of them right was genuinely impressive.

I think it's pretty close between Joseph and Vana. Vana's idea is more of a gamble though so at this point, I'd put Joseph slightly ahead as Vana's plan has more potential to go wrong BUT it also has the potential to be a HUGE money spinner if it goes right.

Love Vana.
Vana to go all the way and win.

Although this final two is spot on, I must say. Glad Slippery Richard is gone.

Joseph by a long way to be honest.

And I fully expect him to get the win on sunday.

Vana is a very impressive candidate but a very, very risky investment

Joseph handling the Sugar book quiz was brilliant, I thought he'd be stumped

Hard to choose between Joseph and Vana for me. Joseph was probably the best all round, all of the interviewers clearly liked him and he did well with the quiz. Vana did a good job persuading the interviewers that there is something in her business plan when it is clearly much riskier than previous winners' plans.

exactly. a lot were screaming out for a richard/vana final after task 9 but it was such recency effect at play. Joseph has been the most solid throughout for me

deserved winner if (lets be honest- when) he takes it

I was dreading it when Lord Sugar's book was produced.

I was expecting to see Joseph humiliated as a blagger ... and Lo and Behold ... he really had read it !

Joseph ended up with no plan to offer. You don't get a job by reading the bosses book and passing a test on it - though in this case he may.

Vana survived much more intact. The big question with her - can she do it- remains on the table.

As his Lordship tends to ask people from the industries concerned to review the proposals, when they are presented, Vana's fate depends on what the experts say. Her task was to get a chance to convince those experts. Joe has to not only convince them, he now has to rewrite a new proposal that makes sense, and will also be convincing.

Lord Sugar is fond of saying what a 'gambler' he is ... if he goes with his gambler's instinct he may choose Vana as his partner.

However, he is also a realist, and he knows of the two, Joseph is the one who he can be sure will make money for him.

A close call this one

Overall, Joseph.

I do think that Gary's idea was better than he was given credit for, though.

When Mike Soutar pulled out the book I had falshbacks to Jordan and the Rubik's cube, so well played Joseph for knowing that claims you make will be tested. He also had the ability to listen to potential problems and adapt accordingly. So he wins for being the most personable of the candidates, but there's still the element of his true talent being the ability to sell himself rather than his product.

I thought that bit was superb and I can see Joseph winning.

Who on earth would want to play games on a dating site BUT LS has already crowned someone a winner whose business plan was derided.
It was Tom Pellereau so I suppose Vana is still in there with a chance.

Roll on Sunday.

All of their business plans were underwhelming. Either impossible or unimaginative. However at the end of it only Joseph gave me any confidence that he could succeed.
