1) A Christmas Carol
2) The Time of the Doctor
3) Last Christmas
4) The Snowmen
5) The Next Doctor
6) The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe
7) The Christmas Invasion
8) The Voyage of the Damned
9) The Runaway Bride
10) The End of Time

Christmas Carol is the best because firstly it was based on a Charles Dickens story which kind of helps, but also because it was the most engaging and moving without becoming too silly, like DWW, or self-indulgent and miserable, like End of Time. It was genuinely just a pleasant and touching Christmas story with a Doctor Who twist.

Time of the Doctor comes close because I thought it was a great way to send the Eleventh Doctor as well as wrapping up all his storylines. Matt's departure was emotional but engaged the prospect of change where End of Time treated change for the show like it was the end of the world.

The Christmas Invasion, I thought it was a wonderful introduction to the Tenth Doctor. Actually I've liked all of them but Last Christmas would be my second favourite.

Most of them have been awful, and far below the usual standard of both RTD and the Moff. My overall favourite is A Christmas Carol, but the Christmas Invasion is also good.

A Christmas Carol for me as well as I love the original Dickens story and watch as many versions as I can every year. It was a great that Doctor Who did a take on it and I loved it and having Katherine Jenkins in it was a huge bonus. Plus it was free of the excessive crack in time/Amy arc which ruined a lot of Series 5.

Was a bit bizarre my fave Xmas Episode follows my least fave Series though.....

I liked The Xmas Invasion I like aside the fact The Doctor was missing for three quarters of it and The Runaway Bride I also love aside from the shouty Donna!

I do like The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardobe though!

'The Christmas Invasion' for me. I particularly liked the mid section when all hope is lost. No Doctor, people on rooftops and the PM left with no choice but to broadcast a call for the Doctor (a nice twist on the Queens speech). Quite grim for Xmas day family fun viewing.

Not a fan of The Runaway Bride but it does gain kudos for showing how the earth formed (minus spacecraft) A nice comment considering the 'holy' day the episode aired on

A Christmas Carol is probably the most visually stunning. A really nice episode. The choice of adaptation was somewhat obvious, but fair do's it was extremely well done and Matt Smith was wonderful in it.

Although I love 'Time of the Doctor' and consider it one of the most ignorantly (yes, I will use that word) underrated episodes of Doctor Who I would say 'A Christmas Carol', as a Christmas episode. It's just realized so strongly: the tone, the aesthetic is so consistent. It is a good example of how I want to see Doctor Who handled: every episode having a very strong personal identity, not homogenized into the gloopy, generic formula episode of Doctor Who.

The Christmas Invasion for me. The scenes of the new Doctor deciding on his new outfit to Song for Ten, the joyous scenes in the Tyler household and then the final scene where the Doctor and Rose look forward to new adventures were magical, especially as we knew that the series was still in safe hands. Last Christmas was probably my second favourite,

My annual rewatch of A Christmas Carol is coming up. Just think its great Who period. Time....is close as I think it's a funny and sad and overall rather beautiful goodbye to a favourite Doctor. So phew, Tom doesn't think I'm ignorant. Then again, I rate Toby Whithouse as a writer, so.....

(Am not being serious, Thomas.)

A Christmas Carol easily tops this list. It has rewatchability factor to it, it looks great, and is what I consider to possibly be Matt Smith's best episode - cusping his less caricature-esque interpretation in Series 5, but the story having the heart that some of Series 6 would have. I cared more about Kazran and Abigail in an hour than I had done for Amy or Rory across a whole series previously. Jenkins and Gambon were great additions, and the story works very well on its own (with a nice nod to the ongoing Silence arc in the climatic song). Great fun and an awesome take on a classic story.

I also enjoy Last Christmas a lot - despite expectations. Its ending is one of Moffat's highs, and even now gets me psyched up for what comes next (Series 9!). I also found The Time of the Doctor and The Runaway Bride to be very good in places, and am happy to stick them on, the others I'm less bothered about or actually inclined to avoid.

For me the only redeeming feature for A Christmas Carol for kathryn Jenkins. Other than that I thought it was one of the worst christmas episodes to date.

For me A Christmas Invasion hasn't been beaten. A great introductory episode for a new Doctor full of life and joy, comedy and drama.

Rose is superb as are Jackie and Mickey, although David Tennant does eventually steal the show.

I do enjoy the contemporary-Earth Christmas episodes most. I haven't really enjoyed any of the Christmas episodes since 2010 to be honest.

I voted for this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BPLivW2NkE

Thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable episode. Claire Skinner played Madge Arwell brilliantly, putting a lot of heartfelt emotion into her role as the grieving Mother, trying to protect her young children from ever finding out that their father's plane is lost, possibly for good.

The episode had just the right amount of action to keep the viewer interested for the whole sixty minutes. Also, it kept the Christmas theme pretty much throughout the episode. There was action, Christmas, emotional moments and snow too!

Saw this on DVD earlier, part of the Series 7 Box Set, and I was in floods of tears!

This bit I found especially emotional, knowing what happened in The Angels Take Manhattan:

My top 5 would be:

1) The Doctor The Widow and The Wardrobe
2) The Christmas Invasion
3) The Runaway Bride
4) The Next Doctor
5) Voyage of the Damned

LOL. :P Although I stand by my personal opinion of Whithouse as a writer I have revised my opinion of his latest episodes after I watched this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZjE...BQY58e&index=3 (I do NOT usually watch reaction videos. This is something someone sent me... honestly).

If the excellent lady in the video loved the episode then it was good Doctor Who, as she strikes me as being the intelligent 'casual' viewer the show is aimed at. So Whithouse may be a hack but I will say he's a good one.

(See, who says I'm strident and uncompromising? :P)

The Christmas Invasion is fairly enjoyable and a good introduction to the Tenth Doctor, but that's about it.
The Runaway Bride is fun but otherwise rather forgettable.
Voyage of the Damned is certainly an enjoyable spectacle, but it doesn't have much actual substance. That said, it's still probably my favourite of RTD's Christmas episodes.
The Next Doctor is fairly forgettable.
The End of Time really doesn't feel like a Christmas episode at all. I think it has its moments and on the whole I feel Part 2 is vastly better than Part, but at the end of the day it's a load of overblown nonsense.

A Christmas Carol is everything a Christmas episode should be and is my favourite by a long way. It's charming and uplifting whilst simultaneously being quite sad at times. Unlike all of RTD's Christmas stories it's far more than just a simple alien invasion at Christmas. The story takes centre stage this time.

The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe is rubbish. It's far too sentimental.
The Snowmen is a very enjoyable Christmas episode which manages to be slightly darker than usual whilst simultaneously being very Christmassy.
Time of the Doctor is a pretty good episode. There are bits which I really liked and bits which really disappointed or frustrated me but on the whole it's a decent send off for Eleven. However, I think the Christmas theme got in the way of Eleven's swan song. I'd have preferred the episode not to have been Christmassy at all.

Last Christmas is my second favourite Christmas episode. It feels more "hibernal" than Christmassy to me. It's the sort of episode which would be most atmospheric if watched alone in a house in a freezing winter's night with snow falling and visibility poor because it's so dark and claustrophobic.

I know we haven't seen The Husbands of River Song yet, but every one of my instincts is screaming to be that this is going to be an utterly terrible episode. It looks like cringeworthy camp pantomime rubbish. I have never before in my life been less looking forward to watch a Doctor Who episode. In fact, for the first time I'm not going to bother watching this live on Christmas day. My time will probably be better spent enjoying Christmas dinner at the absurdly early time it's airing at this year.
I'll watch it on iPlayer before bed. Hopefully there'll be at least something in it which impresses me.

Went for The Christmas Invasion, probably followed by Voyage of the Dammed, then A Christmas Carol, then everything else, then that awful Widow Wardrobe one. I dont really count End Of Time as a Christmas one personally.
