Me too, a complete borefest and incredibly overrated IMO.

I think Doctor Who has done many rip-offs in the past from The Avengers, The Hammer Horror Films, Agatha Christie, hell it's even ripped off itself(Voyage of The Damned and Robots Of Death for example)

So I don't see it as anything new in that respect. I agree there are many different versions of A Xmas Carol but personally love it that there is now a version of it in Doctor Who. It doesn't ruin the credibility of the original novel for me neither does it do an injustice to any of the other versions that are out there.

enjoyed the David Tennents ones.
Still not seen Last Christmas yet!
The Runaway Bride is one of my favourites, as I love Catherine Tate and think she's hilarious in this show.
Never too overly keen on the Matt Smith ones, though I did like the Snowmen. Part of me likes his last special, as it was a regeneration episode.
The Window...and The Christmas Carol, I thought weren't good at all. Especially The Widow...
I really enjoyed this years one.

You should watch Last Christmas I really enjoyed it which I was surprised at as the trailer looked pants.

VOTD is The Poseidon Adventure plus a bit of Robots of Death. With Kylie. It got amazing ratings. And is not something I want to watch again, despite Geoffrey blinking Palmer! I really like Geoffrey Palmer....

Each to their own.

But ACC is best.

Well if I can't have this year's which I've watched too many times on i player already I would probably go for the runaway bride as I did like Catherine Tate and I always enjoy watching the motorway chase and Donna s family.

VOTD is a story that on paper should work but it just doesn't. I think Tennant and Kylie were okay and it's certainly got loads of pace but somehow it seems a bit short on substantial plot and maybe there's one too many characters in there as well. And as I said the Robots turning evil is just a poor rehash of The Robots Of Death.

Not only that Max Capricorn's short appearance(No pun intended!) as the villain really doesn't do it any favours either. I do like the Mr Copper character though.

Geoffrey Palmer I would like to have seen more with his character but you can't have everything!

Im voting for Flashpoint which was episode 6 of TDIOE.

I dont care if it aired on Boxing Day it's only one day from xmas day and look how many comedies from the 60s, 70s & 80s aired their xmas episode on Boxing Day.

It didnt have a xmas theme but so what I enjoyed the episode so im choosing it.

Just because it aired on Boxing Day doesn't make it a special Christmas episode, which was actually the point of this thread...

If a Christmas episode has nothing to with Christmas then it's just an episode.
Still, delude yourself that Flashpoint is a Christmas episode if you like.

Doesnt stop the BBC or ITV still calling it a xmas episode because it falls on Boxing day.

Very true, but no-one, except you, has ever called Flashpoint a Christmas episode. Because it's not.
It's merely a regular episode that happened to be transmitted on Boxing Day.

I specifically said Christmas day episode not Christmas episode so Flashpoint does not count.

But not on Benny's poll.
Why not start your own poll with your own indistinct criteria about what constitutes a Christmas episode that's actually shown on Christmas Day.
Cos that's what this poll is all about.
