She had 35,000 from the moment she started to make trouble- but has only gained another 5,000 in 2 months. I would have expected it to continue to grow and grow if they were all genuine, and if she was as popular as she thinks she is.

Mergim is a nice guy who gets on well with Joseph. But from what I've seen, team Joseph looks weak and only Gary and Brett will be useful

He may be a nice guy but he's awful at business or even working as part of a team to produce business.

I think Vana picked Charleine first or else Joseph would have. Joseph might have then picked Gary or Brett? Vana probably then went for Richard. Mergim was probably the last one left so Joseph was saddled with him. The teams really are weighted in Vana's favour - Joseph has a bunch of deadweights.
