Kevin Painter has been a really talented darts player over the years so how come he has never won the World Championship

Excuses, excuses, excuses.
Most of them seem to relate to MvG. Oh, and it strikes me that if Phil really loved Eric Bristow he wouldn't threaten to "say a lot about him" in the same sentence. |

Phil Taylor has gone back to his old darts because of Michael Van Gerwan

Taylor is so bitter he loves Bristow yet says he could reveal a lot about him

It's actually embarrassing how much Sky indulge Taylor. The other players have to make do with Laure lobbing inane questions at them in the aisle, meanwhile Taylor is allowed to sit on a comfy chair and ramble on to his heart's content.
I much preferred it when they interviewed all the players in the studio, we got much better insights into lots of different guys then rather than just one. |

King couldn't buy a double later on there, he'll be pissed.

If jelle could brush up on his doubles he could take some beating. Definitely capable of beating Taylor on recent form
Why is he so fixated on 18s though. 20 and 16 split much, much nicer |

Fantastic start from Michael Smith
Anyone think he could be a contender for the whole thing? |

Another embarrassment for Unicorn as Smith is effectively denied a nine darter by a bounceout.

That win has booked Michael Smith a PL place I feel.

So for the PL so far we've probably got MVG, Anderson, Taylor, Wright, Lewis, Smith, Barney, Wade, Thornton (presume he'll get in as a TV tourney winner).
Leaves 1 spot open which if it's not Wolfie in a guest spot is presumably open to someone left in this tournament if they have a good run, Chizzy and Klassen would be favourites. |

Here is an interesting thought. Quarters are all on Friday. 2 in the afternoon and 2 in the evening. Assuming MVG, Anderson, Lewis and Taylor all win. 2 of them will have to play in the afternoon on New Years Day.
Will they shunt Taylor to the afternoon ? I would be surprised. MVG is a certainty for the evening but will the World Champ take precedence over Phil ? I doubt it. Even Lewis v Chizzy or Wright could be the game of the round and is a shoe in for a 1pm start I think. |

Not sure about Thornton, he has played poor since that win. I fancy Chizzy to get a spot and a dark horse for me could be VVdV, especially with the event going to Holland for the first time. |
