I think this has helped out Sky schedule for New Years Day though

I suggest it will be

Barney V Smith and Lewis V Chizzy/Wright in the afternoon
Gando V Wade and Taylor ( if he wins ) in the evening.

As for MVG. still only one World title. Will be interesting to see how many he ends up winning.

They say that the only thing harder than winning your first world title, is winning your second one... Don't they? If not, they should!

Sensational match

Can't help thinking Barney will flop hard in the next round.

one world title yes but the guy is winning everything else!

he will win more world titles no doubt. Will bounce back instantly after this.

but yeah winning the world title is tough.

The problem is right in front of him though. We've seen it many times, it takes it out of you so much beating Phil Taylor, even when not in the best of form.

Wouldn't be surprised if he beat Taylor but then lost in the next round.

Fantastic from Barney tonight.

Think it's Anderson or Lewis` to lose now, they play their best and one of them wins imo.

I wouldn't rule Wade out either, seems to be under virtually everyone's radar at the moment.

only if he improves his doubles. Pity he has Taylor next round, Phil will just grind him down whereas he could play himself into better doubles form against other players

MvG clearly absolutely gutted but still willing to front up for an interview.

Shame not every player is willing to do that.

There's the worry Barney saying 'to me it feels like winning the title already', if he's treating tonight like his final getting himself up for another 3 games is tough.

As a matter of interest Ned, did anyone go for RVB in this match or to reach the semi ?
Not sure on the match yet as haven't gone through them all (I'll say 99% certainly no though!) every single person went for MVG to make the semis.
Get in there

And got the 4-3 correct as well

If MVG hasn't suffered enough tonight, he now has to speak to Laure!

That interviewing corridor looked poignantly moribund!

What is all this on here about MVG needs to win more world titles ? The guy is 26, he won his title at 24. Taylor was 30 before he won his first, Barney was 31 when he won his first, even Lewis was 26. People are talking like he is under achieving, he most certainly is not. He will win a stack of world titles, I would put money on that. I don't think he has started to peak yet.

Eh?

Mvg is still younger than the youngest ever pdc world champion apart from himself.
