Hard to explain isn't it ? He did, as you say, have some great seasons then dropped so quickly. In fact between 2007 and 2009 he reached the quarters at Worlds, runner up in UK Open and won the Championship League. Now his ranking is 170

This is a good piece on him https://dartsweekly.wordpress.com/20...ck-to-the-top/

Cheers mate!

When he made the quarters or semis the year Barney won the worlds I thought he'd go on to great things! that must be a good decade ago now or thereabouts

He wasn't a high scorer but a consistent, methodical player nonetheless. Interesting!

Another first round defeat for Colin Osborne today. Incredible how he has fallen so far

Jaysus!

It's a shame Shepherd never really came through either, although he was never a high scorer so it's not a surprise tbh

Great effort from Ted Evetts, who I believe is only 18 years old, in winning a Tour Card today.

Dennis Smith lost out 5-4 at the final hurdle to 19 year old Ryan Meikle.

Just shows how determined the younger players are. An impressive CV of past achievements aren't enough to carry players through any more. Smith is a former World Championship semi-finalist. Twice World Grand Prix semi-finalist.

Meikle also beat Kirk Shepherd en-route to his tour card today.

Colin Osborne's continued demise is sad to see and Mark Dudbridge suffered another early exit too.

Ha close. That is Darren Latham. My playing days are now restricted to the board in the spare room. I don't even play in the pub now.

His ranking is so low now he probably won't qualify to be on TV

The other comment from JBO was related to the death of Glenn Frey, Eagles legend and of course singer of 'The Heat Is On'
