Is commentating for ITV sport on the darts, Chris Mason's only form of income?

All players are jaded from the break after the worlds, anyone could win this.... Providing MVG is feeling the same.

Looks like Taylor's going to get his revenge on Klaasen, who isn't playing nearly as well as he did against him at the Worlds.

Some tip top darts today, great comeback from Chizzy, surprise defeat for Jackpot and revenge of the Power. Even our illustrious England captain enjoying himself!
Does anyone know what happens to the dart boards that Phil Taylor gets signed and then takes off stage?

Suspect this is a tournament where the guys with something to prove (Huybrechts, Taylor, MVG) will do well and the ones coming off big World Champs (Ando, Lewis, RVB, Klassen) won't lose much sleep going out!

Would strongly fancy MVG to steamroller everyone to be honest.

MvG is absolutely pulverising Bunting here - oh, and he missed D15 for a nine darter.

He wins 10-1 with an average of 112.2.

Pity in the sense that Taylor's 118.66 average looked like it might go.

Although MVG has exceeded 120 'behind closed doors', albeit in a shorter format:

What a brilliant match that was.

Have to say, though, that Taylor gave Wright plenty of chances to take a firm grip on that match and Wright just didn't take them.

The D19 he missed for the match by a fair distance summed that up, really.

Bit harsh to be sat on a double after nine darts and not get a pop at it!

but that was the quality of both players, both were superb and its a shame that someone has to lose

Don't know why anyone could have such strong feelings for the man who is responsible for you watching what you are today. Without him, darts would not be what it is. You may not like him but he is hard to hate. Personally I WANT Taylor to do well still because I think it is essential for the game. The fact that the World Finals he isn't in get a fraction of the audience shows that. The game needs Taylor. Still.

It's almost getting nigh on impossible to beat MVG over legs it seems. Ok he's not going to average 120 all match but if he does in one session you're all but beat already! Significant that his two major defeats of recent times were in sets against Choccy and Barney, think he was actually ahead in legs of both of those too.

Edit: actually he was level on 15-15 with Barney, but you get my point 👍🏻

The guy is an arrogant prick and a very sore loser, who is never gracious in defeat. He might have transformed the sport but he certainly ain't no gentleman, and as such shouldn't be held up as an ambassador until he learns some respect. Hopefully MVG will give him the beating he deserves later on.

The future is Dutch, the future is green!

I too hope MVG beats him comfortably. I also think PT is a very sore loser and seems to think all have to respect him.

Hoping for a MVG v Wade final but wouldn't be too bothered if Chizzie faced him.

MVG was awesome last night and earlier today, let's hope he keeps that up tonight.

He is a bad loser and he is very arrogant but he's the reason why we are posting. Without him who knows where darts would be. All the other players, and media, blow smoke up his arse because they know he is the reason they have a career
