He is a bad loser and he is very arrogant but he's the reason why we are posting. Without him who knows where darts would be. All the other players, and media, blow smoke up his arse because they know he is the reason they have a career

If you'd have posted that Chizzy was going to make the final when he was 8-0 down to Thornton you would have got laughed off the forum eh...

Does one automatically justify the other though?

Is this a ranking event ? I seem to think it is, even though open only to the top 16

It can justify the arrogance. Look at Eric, he was Taylors mentor and he was a right arrogant sod. If you are the best the game has ever produced, and Taylor will be the best for at least another 10 years, then you have earned the right to brag about it I guess. Quite simply, when Taylor calls it a day it will be a bad day for darts, especially on TV.

He's not even the best player now if you go by the Order of Merit. He'll be among the best for the next few years, sure, but at least another 10? I think that's pushing it somewhat. Quote:

I get the impression with Taylor that he carries that attitude within him as a person, not just as a darts player. |

MVG can win every world title from now until then but he will still be lagging behind. |

Rubbish, the standard is only getting better, with it without Taylor the sport has never been in a healthier state.

You are letting your hatred for the man cloud your judgement. That is a ridiculous statement. Without Phil Taylor the game would not be in the position it is in now. That is not my opinion that is FACT. Because you do not like the man ( well hate so much was your words ) doesn't make it so. Without Taylor we wouldn't be seeing 100 plus averages so readily. He took darts to another level. Surely you can see that. Can't you ?

Fantastic recovery on that 87 finish from MvG, hit big 3 rather than big 17 then took out the T20 D12 as easy as you like.
Seven missed darts for the match from Taylor. Must admit I did smile to myself when Taylor refused a bull finish in an earlier leg to pressure a 144 from MvG, which he then duly took out.

YES YES YES 😃
Wouldn't be surprised to see Chizzy win this now, MVG will be exhausted after that and it would be the perfect fairy tale after being 8-0 in the opener |

What a match that was!!! I love them both.
Hope Phil sticks with these Darts. He's played well his week, and it's been good to see. No doubt people will stil be writing him off, but it's not like he's playing bad. Hopefully MVG will win it now though. |

Like the commentators said, Phil new how big that leg of darts was where he missed 7 or so darts at double to win the match.
Absolutely brilliant match though. On that showing Phil is far from finished. |

I really hope Chizzy doesn't become like Rocket Ron and Tel Jenkins as a perennial runner up. He is much better than that. Would love to see him win a tournament one day

MvG's prize for winning the Unibet Masters is the UEFA Cup with a panel taken out of it.
