Yes MVG <3

That's an odd Trophy. It's making me feel a bit OCD, to be honest 😉

Taylor loss no real surprise, he never gets out of second gear in the round robin stage.

I see Taylor has changed his darts again.
Not having much luck with Target.

Pretty classy result by Barney though.

Big news for the PDC. TV coverage all over the place now!

Nice to see the BBC getting involved with the PDC. I am interested to see who the BBC use to host and commentate.

Yes I'm guessing the Sky lads have a contract saying they can't go anywhere? I'd like to see Mardle and the boys there.

But yes interesting to who it will be.

Hopefully not Murray or Bobby George.

Think this just confirms that the BBC dropped the Lakeside due to poor ratings.

They must be confident the PDC has a wider appeal.

£100k to the winner of an 8 man tournament. Impressive!!

I could never see Bobby do it, has to be Mason for me as the regular guest but I've no idea on the Presenter, I hope not Murray either.

If this is the start of possible more coverage on the BBC then it does make sense for the first tournament to consist of the best players in the world. A great introduction to those who would never of seen the product before.

Anyone worried about TV over kill or is the balance still okay at the moment?

Tell you what though. The BDO won't be happy about this.

Na. When you take away the PL there is still quite big gaps between TV tournaments.

I wouldn't be surprised if the PDC told ITV and the BBC that they cant show BDO programming as well as PDC.

It's taken years to get on the BBC and I don't think it's coincidence that its the same year the BBC drop the BDO World Championships.

So basically terrestrial viewers have only seen / will see Philly before his best or past his best. I almost feel sorry for the bloke 😛

Whilst it's long overdue that terrestrial viewers see the likes of Lewis, Gando & MVG playing darts off the scale, I'm not a fan of yet another 8 man event - there's more than enough of those with the Masters series. Seems the top end of the PDC is turning into the MVG pension fund!

lol, MvG staking paper.

I can see why they are doing it though. First tournament on the BBC, only 2 days and a way to show of the best of the best.

Chizzy needs to get in that top 8.

I would also imagine Sky are conscientious that it doesn't have too much of a tournament feel about it so that the average man in the street who doesn't have Sky but likes watching a bit of darts doesn't come away with the impression that this was the world championship.
