The best thing about ITV coverage is the better camerawork when the players go downstairs. They have a better angle plus always really focus in on the treble 19. Sky use the same camera angle wherever the player throws away from the T20 and it's too side on and too far away to sometimes tell where the dart has landed.

Rawling is a dreadful commentator though, the dirty piggy b*****.

I dont know what you mean by the last bit, but i really like John Rawling. He is like the layman commentator rather than the cliche ridden type like Rodney or Mardle

Latest PDC Rankings

MVG extends his leas over Gando, Taylor overtakes Lewis into 3rd. Wright swaps places with Wade to 5th. Klaasen moves up to 10th which means that Chizzy is no longer in the top 10 and therefore the PL isn't the worlds top 10 as it was. Crackers because Chizzy is definitely a top 8 player let alone number 11.

Had Barry Lynn being on the tour, his money would make him number 73.

That's unfair. Taylor is not the only player who doesn't always give an interview after losing. You don't have to and if a player chooses not to I don't think its so bad.

More important is giving congratulations to the winner and Taylor did that.
I agree. More often than not a losing player isn't interviewed.
Unless they bring in a rule that forces players to be interviewed then I don't see the problem.

Saw a tweet this morning that 1 mil watched the Final. That's impressive for the UK open not on the main ITV channel.

We will find out in a week or so. Got to be honest I'd be surprised. The Masters Final only got 500,000

And impressive for a match not involving Mr Taylor.

I'm guessing the overnights, which this tweet is obviously regarding, are for the evening show which did feature the semi finals too. One of which was Taylor V MVG. As I said earlier, we will see the figures in a week or so on the BARB site

The figure Oatley was quoting was more than likely the peak figure, which wont appear on the BARB site as they are the whole programme figures. So you wont be seeing anything in seven figures for darts on there over the weekend. remember her Tweet only said that many people watched the FINAL, not the whole 3 hour broadcast that night which is what will be reported by BARB on the public site on Monday.

Usual broadcaster trick to shout the peak figure from the rooftops as its the higher one.

Actually her tweet said "watched the darts last night". No mention of the final

I see. It is still likely to be a peak figure though, as it sounds much better than using the average. Still impressive, mind.

And, I'm guessing, the peak was during the Taylor V MVG semi rather than the final. Baring in mind last year the final evening only got 467,000

Phil Taylor still the #1 draw in the business.

Certainly is. Even though MVG is more entertaining to watch the majority still like to watch The Power. Familiarity i guess.

UK Open Viewing Figures

ITV showed 6 programmes ( I think ), 5 of them were in the top 10 for ITV4 that week.

Sunday nights semi and finals had 633,000
Saturday night had 416,000
Sunday afternoon had 406,000
Friday night had 349,000
Saturday afternoon had 281,000

Friday afternoon I do not know but it was less than 254,000
