Bit of a crippler that tops tops finish with Phil sat on 40. 7-3 instead of 6-4, looking very good for MVG here.

9-3 now and Taylor's display now is making a mockery of Clark and Mardle's assertions that he never gives up. |

Never seen Phil chuck the darts away like that!
Bit of a flat night tonight in all honesty, doesn't help the crowd is like a morgue! |

Seems like he's now down to smiling acceptance rather than getting mad and riled up to play out of his skin.

MVG only 5 behind Taylor on the H2H now (27-22). Every chance he'll topple him before Phil retires you'd think.

Well, that was a complete demolition almost from the point the first dart was thrown.
I wonder how much longer Phil Taylor can sustain taking that kind of drubbing - because all the signs are that it might happen frequently when he runs into MvG. |

Think we're getting to the point with Phil where the question of can he handle being second fiddle while the money keeps rolling in for him must cross his mind.
Yes he's earning good money and is still a top player but he's not got anything in the tank to beat MVG. I don't see him enjoying getting a pasting in finals regularly even if the moneys good. |

Taylor will still get to finals. Think he knows beating MvG is really tough but he can deal with it.
MvG is just amazing... |

Well that was a bit of a damp squib, only one player of the four showed up tonight. It was obvious the winner of the Taylor/ando semi was going to get thrashed by MVG as neither were playing well enough. Taylor just gave up after it went to 8-3 and the final was a bit of a non event really he just wasn't playing well enough on the night to challenge.

Mvg the best in world, but beatable in set play as opponents can throw legs and even the odd set

I'm still amazed at how hungry MvG is to win. Would be very easy to start taking it easy but he plays these tournaments like it's his first.

I know. You play so many matches over a three month period travelling the whole country playing in different cities at different arenas including Holland and then it all comes down to three matches, with the semi final and then to the final with two of the best players in history and after all that it is a non event. Im starting to think that this Premier League is a bit overrated
Weight up the pro and cons of the premier league and there isn't a contest. |

he only generally hands the throw to his opponent in events where there is some form of tie break, has to be won by 2 legs, or its against a lesser opponent and the format is long enough for him to get the break. No chance in this earth or the next he was going to give the throw away to the #1 ranked player.

MvG is taking over darts, did anyone think Phil took the loss well which is unlike him, it's like he finally accepted MvG is unstoppable.
But I reckon Phil has a few more majors in him. |

MVG is NOT unstoppable. As pointed out above, he is not the World Champ at the moment, so he is beatable in set play
