First 3 seeds could all get beat tonight to be honest. Deano and Newton are really ripe for the taking and you never know with Chizzy if he doesn't turn up and Rodriguez plays his best.

Real heaven and hell player isn't he Winstanley, one minute a bag of nails the next a 180. Both players below their best though, as the 83 & 88 averages illustrate, even if Sky won't show you them.
Anyway, decider it is, as I thought it would be. |

Calm down Dean, you've only levelled things up, not won the match.
And he's lost it. |

Fair play to Ronnie a 164 and a 104 to clinch victory under that pressure is no mean feat. Think that's the tenth seed to crash out now.

Deano getting 8 180's and losing averaging less than 90 shows consistency is clearly a problem!!
Suspect the next game will be garbage quality as well Newton was bang average at his best and he's gone downhill now! |

No prelim games tonight then - hooray! Looks a half-decent card in fact, you'd fancy at least one of the matches to go the distance, possibly Winstanley v Ronnie H.
tbf though, I did enjoy the latter stages of the first match. Can't wait for Newton/Reyes to finish though

It's all gone a bit North Korea with Sky muting the crowd over and over when they don't like the content!

How long has Dean Winstanley been coming out to Madonna's 'Like A Prayer'?
Really odd choice for a walk-on theme ![]() On a related note, Spirit In The Sky was a rather left-field choice of song for the prelim players to walk out to... |

The crowd were singing things that Sky considered too offensive for broadcast, so they ham-fistedly muted them out - which created the bizarre situation of a 161 being taken out to virtual silence.

Yeh it happened quite a bit, i wonder what it was.
Not gonna tempt fate by saying it looks a decent card again, did that last night and we ended up with a clown winning a set with a 67 average 😛 |

Actually I've thought the first round has seemed a bit ropey this year, but apparently it's record averages:
