Anderson is just not at the races tonight.

But he's still hanging in there, to be fair...

Lewis on Twitter saying he said "i was unlucky" not "you were lucky" to MVG. He has congratulated him too and said how well MVG played.

He's been in a funny mood all week; far more concerned with fighting battles off the oche than on, which has clearly dragged his performances down.

Is he having a few issues away from darts at the moment?

Lewis is responding to many of the keyboard warriors. It is utter clowns though who have a go at a guy who has won as much as he has and is a two time world champion. Can never understand their mentality but he needs to try and rise above it. Keith needs to have a word with him about that.

Lewis started it all from what I could see, just like the Price stuff which he started then made out he was just responding to Price,

He's turned into a very unlikeable oaf

A bit over the top. He's receiving a bit of flak and giving some back but nothing out of order.
He should really show a bit more decorum and rise above it though as Darren says.

Hasn't he always been, I've never really understood the whole 'good guy' thing with him, Imo he has never been the most likeable of players and he is showing that again this week.

Difficult to call the final tonight - I know MVG will start favourite but at times PT has looked the better player this week.

For all his many triumphs, there's a strong argument that this would rank as his greatest achievement after so long without a proper major, coupled with playing the best player in the world - especially over a long leg format

Phils not going to get many more chances to win a TV major. I don't think MVG is on his game this week so the chance is certainly there.

I wouldn't begrudge him the win either, as much as I've never been a fan of Phil the personality it's the British way to love the underdog now he's not the dominating player of old

I fancy Phil tonight he is playing great, whilst MvG is a quite a bit below that amazing level from them 114+ averages he was doing, it's been around 99 recently.

But who knows MvG might just turn up and go crazy?

Van Gerwen getting into his stride now, and when he is out in front, it is hard for anyone to stop him

This match is getting away from Taylor rather quickly now.

MvG is near the top of his game - particularly on the finishing - and Taylor just can't match it.

This is the balance of power between the two in the PDC writ large.

Sums up the whole tournament..A damp squib really with too many drubbings.
A record now.The first time in a MP that no game has gone to overtime.

Van Gerwen won that mini session 5-0 and only two of them legs were on throw.

He's just too good at the moment. Incredible to think that Phil Taylor hasn't won a major event for two years... looks like its going to continue.

Wow, this is over already, I really thought this was going to be a close one but Taylor isn't showing the form of last night and he really had to to challenge. Looks like another one sided match as has been the theme this tournament.

All the good games on paper have been walk overs, this looks over.

Bit of needle out there?

Taylor stirring the crowd up while MvG is throwing, which seems dubious.
