For the first time the Players Championship Tue-Thu will be streamed on PDCTV and selected betting sites.
Two boards will stream selected games to run alongside the normal ones.
Will be just like watching the internet comp they used to do.

MVG won all 3 PC's including 2 nine dart finishes to take his unbeaten run to 35 games.

Watched bits and pieces.Coverage was quite good and a chance to see players you don't normally see.

I wonder how much Hearn is paying the BBC to stage this weekends tournament on free to air prime time bbc1?

Curious to see how they play out the legs.
Apart from Premier League games there is usually ad breaks during most matches.
Guess they might have a short break after 8 or 9 legs in the best of 19.

Have to say I was amazed when I checked the schedule and saw that this tournament had been given four hours of prime-time viewing on both Saturday and Sunday night on BBC2, which is a testament to just how much Barry Hearn was able to convince the BBC that PDC darts was worth investing so much high-profile airtime in.

There have been various things promoting the tournament popping up on the BBC this week but the one I found most curious was a video on the BBC website about this 12 year old girl who's supposedly a darting prodigy and has beaten Trina Gulliver and some of the men and all the rest of it.

The reason I found it curious is because the PDC doesn't pay any regard to the women's game and women in the game, for the most part, so I wondered whether they're involved in trying to promote this girl and build her up in the same way they did with Anastasia when she came across?

Anyway, that's a minor issue; what does matter is that we're about to see is the first glimpse of PDC darts on BBC Television.

And they've even made a special darts ident on BBC2!

I don't believe the BBC have invested anything in this other than airtime, Hearn will most likely have paid the BBC for this event.

Airtime is still an investment though - when you're giving over eight hours of prime BBC2 weekend viewing time to a sporting event that you haven't the first idea of the kind of ratings it'll draw in.

That's because it is aimed at the millions who don't watch it regular rather than the thousands that do.

I am getting the impression that you were determined to absolutely hate and slate this regardless ? They could have had the female dancers from Strictly as walk on girls wearing nothing but a smile and you would have still found fault

Its PDC darts on the BBC for the first time, enjoy it for what it is - a step in the right direction

The BBC don't deserve it though. ITV has been the bellwether for free to air darts of late.
The PDC doesn't need the BBC, and the BBC aren't doing the PDC any favours with this amateurish production.

Carried straight over from the Lakeside.

A few sets of BDO teeth must be gnashing at the way the BBC are acting like this is the first time they've ever screened darts.

The PDC don't need the BBC ??? This will be the most watched PDC event ever on UK TV so please explain that one to me. Why are you determined to find fault with it ? Why do you not think this is good for darts ?
