It all went wrong for him once he tried to be The Darts CM Punk
I always think of Nicholson in the same sort of mould as Colin Osborne. Had a few consistent seasons. Won a tournament, reached a few semi finals then dropped like a stone. Nicho is now 68 in the world, Ozzy is 170....that's only 2 places above me.

Nicho got to say arrogant darts player but done really well as a presenter today. Hopefully this stays on the BBC for a few years they done a great job (and the female interviewer looked particulairy attractive)

I cannot remember her name but she is very good isn't she ? Really knows her stuff and asks good questions rather than inane statements.

Anybody notice, no walk on girls

Is it just me, or is it still really strange to see the PDC on the BBC??

I can't quite get my head around it.
I was thinking the same thing earlier.

Nice to see some proper darts on the Beeb

No "Let's play Darts!!!", or "Here's Wolfie!!!"

Which was strange not to hear during a darts tournament on the BBC!

I did pose that question earlier in the year when the tournament announcement was made. Probably a bit distasteful for the Beeb.

It's also unnecessary for me.

My only pet peeve was the players break music what do you think, it just reminded me of the BDO a little, maybe sky own the rights to play them or something?

If you mean Chase The Sun then Sky don't own the rights. It'll have been the BBC probably wanting to look different to Sky in that regard. ITV use Chelsea Dagger. I'm sure they could have done better than Hey bloody Baby. I hate that song

Nicho I always thought was a bit of an unfulfilled talent really, it all seemed to go wrong when it seemed to become more about creating this 'heel' character than about the darts.

Be the pantomime villain by all means Bluto made a career out of it but I never got the impression he spent more time coming up with gimmicks to rile the crowd up than actually playing darts!

Don't want to be unkind to Michael Smith but I've had the impression watching him this weekend that he's only there to pick up his pay cheque.

Sustaining it is the thing.

Steve Beaton, Terry Jenkins, Mervyn King, Ray van, Ted Hankey (not here) - and others can all rise up and give a MvG or Taylor a hiding occasionally, but then next round they are likely to struggle. MvG and Taylor seem to stand apart by the sheer consistency.

Tricky little banana skin tie that for MVG against the Adonis, especially on a double in best of 3 setter.

Look a lot of decent games in that first round actually.

Is Wade actually through, what if Lewis hammers Anderson?

He's on +9 leg difference, Lewis is on -5, think Lewis would need to win 10-3 to even make the semi but that would be at the expence of Ando not Wade.
