No, he has missed loads.

I suspect you mean is it the first PDC TV ranking event he will have missed, and I suspect the answer to that is "yes".

This is interesting. I've often wondered what a PDC players championship match is like. Well here is one. Dave Ladley v Steve West from today.

Seems a bit grim, playing in a small partitioned area in complete silence with no spectators and just a marker for company.

It makes you understand what the pundits mean when they talk about the difficulty of adjusting from playing on the floor to playing on the stage.

Wade sets a new world record with the most inner and outer bullseyes in one minute.

Video too, not a bad award on the side

Think we may see better games tomorrow afterwards rather than evening. I fancy the last 3 matches tomorrow night to be cake walks

It's just been announced on the ITV coverage that Dave Lanning has died at the age of 78.

If Sid Waddell was the sport's most prominent voice, Dave Lanning was its most enduring; he commentated on darts for the Indoor League and covered the old News Of The World back in the 1970s, did all of ITV's tournaments in the 1980s, then joined Sky Sports and covered PDC events for the best part of twenty years.

Fittingly, ITV have just shown the first ever televised nine-dart finish from John Lowe in 1984 which Lanning commentated on.

Yes just watching that. Very sad news about Dave, as good a darts commentator as there's ever been in my opinion.

First time I went to Blackpool for the Matchplay we were in the same hotel as the Sky guys. The hotel fire alarm went off at 3am one morning and we all had to go to the car park. Most people quickly got changed but Dave Lanning was there in his dressing gown which still makes me chuckle. I remember the others ribbing him over it.

As good as Waddell was, Lanning was THE voice of darts in my opinion.
And what a voice.

Gutted. R.I.P to the big fella.

Touching from Taylor there, saying he'll no longer be able to call up Dave Lanning's son Phil and ask him how his father is.

MvG is on fire right now.

He beats Gerwyn Price 10-2 with a 105 average - but he was up in the 110s for most of the match.
