Anderson's showing real champions' class to eke this one out.

Poor Daryl Gurney must be wondering quite what he's done wrong.

Played well Gurney probably be players who get through to the third round who don't play anything like as well as he has.

Just ran into a better player on the day.

Heard Anderson he hadn't practiced much over xmas. Not something you usually hear someone say when they are defending their world title.

I like Gurney, for a young player he always comes across very well in interviews and is developing into a very good player. I think he'll really step it up in 2016 like Michael Smith has this year.

It is nice to see some of the younger players doing well isn't it ? Sometimes they have gone so far and not gone on from it. Smith, Van der Pas, Hopp, Gurney, Brown, RJR, Evans etc. Some good youngsters coming through.

Gurney looks the real deal, he will kick on I agree and be one of the biggies, I said the same about Peter Wright years ago.

Anderson can still win this.

The constant floor events must help a lot. Become good enough to play in those and you are getting regular matches against many of the top players.

Similar in snooker with the PTC's, they are short matches just like the PDC floor events which gives up and coming players a far better chance to break through imo.

I think with many it's getting used to playing on stage in front of a crowd. Jamie Caven is a prime example of a player who is outstanding on the floor ( as his ranking shows ) but never really done it on TV. Today was first time he made last 16 of worlds yet he beats these players on the floor regular. Floor events have no crowd of course so that's the big thing many players have to get used to. The new breed of youngsters seem to lack fear.

Nice to have a crowd at the Alexandra Palace today who are actually watching the darts being thrown.

I like Steve Beaton, he does well. How many of the "older" names have fallen by the wayside ? Yet here is The Adonis still in the top 32 at 51 and still playing a decent game

Indeed the Adonis certainly is solid, he's never going to be winning TV events these days but must take the game 100% seriously in his preparation and the consistency in which he qualifies for the TV tournaments shows it.

Btw I haven't forgotten about the table for the prediction comp! Hopefully be up Tuesday.

Vincent to Laure: "I didn't understand a word you said"

I imagine most watching share the same sentiment.

Brilliant from Vincent Van Der Voort, love watching him play when he's on song.

The negative - Eric Bristows commentary, changing his mind all the time, saying he can see VDV missing here and kyle taking the leg, the opposite happens, then when its obvious Vincent is "on it" he says he wont lose this now, well er ....
