Hi guys, sorry to start a thread but I just need clarifying whether the dances revealed on ITT i.e. KK's Charleston and Jay's QS are the couple's favourite dance that they get to dance should they make it through to the final 3, or is it the first dance they do which is the judge's choice? In the Express online they're stating that Judges choice is not revealed. Thanks

I think I read that they had decided not to do their jive again....in case they made a mistake or it wasn't as good second time round.

The only dances officially revealed are:

Judges choice
Jay & Aliona QS

Couples Choice
Kellie & Kevin Charleston

The judges choices are usually kept secret but presumably because QS was spoilered over the weekend and was all over Twitter and the blogs that J&A had chosen it instead of Jive, Aliona was allowed to clarify that it was judges choice.

The rest of the couples choices are to be officially revealed throughout the week but Georgia has already said she's also doing her Charleston

Aliona said on twitter that the QS was the judges' pick for Jay because people were really criticising them for having it as their choice (which it isn't). All the other judges' choices aren't known yet - though I don't think anyone knows 100% if the charleston is Kellie and Kevin's favourite or judges' choice, just assuming it's not the judges' choice as it was a successful dance first time round.

Jay and Aliona will definitely not be doing the jive again which I'm actually quite glad about. The first time it was perfection, imagine if they made a mistake in the final

They don't say in which order the dances will be performed but the finale goes like this:

Kevin said on Radio 2 this morning that it's the judges favourite, then the show dance, then their own favourite.

KK also said on radio that show-dance has an extra 15 seconds.

I still don't understand why Jay was questioned on Saturday night in front of the studio audience re dance choice for Final, if it was meant to be a secret - well the QS. Why go there? and it seems the others were n't asked.

Do we think the PTB were hoping to work on him - let the news out of the bag and people would clamour for it, audience on Saturday(according to our mole) were chanting 'do the jive.'

Anyway it seems by Monday J&A they still resolute - no jive.

OK, thanks, hadn't seen that.

We don't see what they are asked, only the answers, and that answer was cut from the Sunday broadcast. There are many logistics to arrange backstage, props musicians booked and so on. And the couples must know because the pros start detailed choreography on Sunday and rehearsal requirements and space must be booked around individual commitments even before that. The detailed planning for the next week must be pretty advanced by the time the previous round is being recorded. .

After the leaving hugs, it's natural that couples would be discussing plans for the next weeks rehearsals, which dance first and so on. Somebody comes round with a microphone asking general questions about what they feel about dancing next week and Jay answers about the specific dance they will be doing. Not because he was asked a specific question about Quick Step but because it was on his mind. We only know what was said because the studio audience could hear, not because it was a planned announcement.

According to the mole it was in his interview with Claudia after being called safe.

In 2013, during the week of the finale we already knew by Tuesday each dances for all the finalists ; the bbc website published their judges choice, showdance song and couples favourite dance....but this year we are scrambling to find out what each couple has

We didn't know the judges choice until the final last year so I guess this year will be the same .. except for knowing what they have landed Jay and Aliona with (hope they choose equally difficult dances for the others ... Katie should have her cha cha for instance!)
Perhaps Jay and Aliona will keep their own choice secret instead.

GG haven't explicitly confirmed, but they will very likely be doing their Charleston as couples' choice!

However I have no idea in what order. To justify everyone learned a show dance I hope the Show dance is first before the first couple is eliminated.

Then before the final voting I imagine they have to dance the two remaining dances.

Only the couples themselves should choose their final dances
We the paying viewers wish to see a final of the best dances


It leaves the judges right or wrong to be accused of bias

One ballroom one Latin and a show dance and let them go for it
