What's the criteria to be classed a 'Quality man' ?
Vana more or less said that getting "quality men" to sign up was the priority, and that everything else would fall into place after that.
Now apart from sounding ver ver sexist, I'm wondering what 'qualities' she is looking for in these prioritised men . Good looking ? Wealthy ? Successful ? And is she saying that these 'quality men' won't be at all bothered if the women they're 'playing' with are not 'quality' too ? |

I'm guessing, not creeps. I've not used a dating site, but from what I've heard women on them tend to get inundated by unwelcome propositions.

I had the feeling she was speaking in terms of education and income, but I have nothing to back that up.

Money, in't it? She wants professional guys with class and cash. I don't know how the strata are named, A1's? (I just googled- I think she wants As, Bs and possibly C1s as well)
Both her parents are New York architects- she wants men like that on there I'm guessing. Successful within the terms of capitalism. Sort of makes me squirm a bit; I certainly wouldn't be considered for this potential site. Is Vana a bit of a snob? It sounds like it. Anyway, these rich professional men, I don't think they are going to want to eff around playing games in order to meet a partner or see their photo, or 'bond' with them or whatever the scheme is. The idea's a dud as far as I can see. Quite impressed with Joseph. He's got a bit of nous. |

Lee Nelson types? Qualiteeeeee!
We wondered about this too. So she wants professionals to sign up - respectable people with good jobs who know how to dress, how to conduct themselves, and hold a conversation. Now then, will those sorts of people, who's time may be tight, have time to spend 'getting to learn' about a member of the opposite sex via the medium of games? Waiting for anything these days is at odds with the NOW culture of today. It's akin to writing a love letter when you could just send a text. And of all the people to target, professionals would have less time to faff about than most. |

Look like an over-groomed Crufts entrant, talk a lot of self-aggrandising pish laced with big words that actually mean nothing, veer from being an abrasive bell end to superciliously 'nice' while all the time claiming you have the potential to make more money than the annual GDP of the US.
Just like your average male Apprentice candidate, in other words... |

I'm surprised people are picking this apart so much as a business point when Vana was clearly just using a small point ("we're going to try to make sure the men who use the site aren't aggressive/overly persistant") in order to flirt outrageously with the interviewer, implying he was a "quality man" she'd quite like to see on his app. Like, comically so. Her chin was tucked so far into her cleavage I thought she was going to crack a rib with it, and some of the ends of those sentences were being growled so hard she sounded like Tom Jones.

Men who will be willing to pay a sizable upfront fee to use the app.

The main problem with straight dating apps is getting "quality" ladies of the heterosexual variety.

Women get in easily/for free, because that will make the men want to get in too. |
