Why the secrecy about J & A third dance?

On ITT G&G were asked what was their dance choice, it being the Charleston as we already knew. Then Jay & Aliona came on and there was no mention of their 3rd dance.

Is it because they have inadvertently revealed the judges' choice and they have to keep their choice secret so that everyone has a 'surprise' on Saturday?

Or is their a tiny tiny miniscule chance that they are doing a jive, and the pressure they wanted to avoid was not in the performance but in the expectation over 6 days leading up to it? One can but hope, though a tango, AT or Paso would be a fair substitute.

Probably a slip of the tongue but when describing the showdance as being a trip down memory lane, incorporating moments from previous dances, Aliona said something about 'our last dance'....

Maybe she knows something we don't.

Do we know the judges' choices for the others too or is it just Jay?

It's actually Katie's that's the only one not to be revealed. So hers is the top secret one. Unless they're that sure on coming fourth they've not even bothered to pick one.

GG : CHARLESTON

KK : CHARLESTON

Jay and Aliona : PASO

On the BBC website : http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/strictlyc...4-c381f46be3de

They didnt list Katie and Anton's choice at ALL

Actually it's a bit confusing we dont know if KK charleston is the judges choice or couple's favourite

I cannot find this about Jay and Aliona choosing the paso. Where is it?

Seems the only secrecy are Katie and Anton's dances. Please correct me if I'm wrong but neither their judges choice or favourite has been announced...

Oh yes just seeing it now.

Jay is going to really stand out with his Paso . So pleased with this choice .

KK and GG will split the viewers with who had the best charleston on the night and hence split votes

So glad about the Paso - great music, great dance. And she did indicate it was that when they were watching their highlights back on ITT.

Urg. Was hoping for the tango if not the jive.

Hardly. If you already have a favourite you'll be voting for them regardless. I think the only dance that may sway the floating voters one way or another is possibly the showdance.

I can understand why KK have chosen their Charleston with all the palaver about Star Wars, and it might be very clever to capture that current appeal but in other ways it's not. They started off with a huuuuuge range of different styles and feels from across the series to create variety in the Final but they've narrowed that down by focusing on the 20s through to the 40s with their Charleston and then a Lindy Hop showdance. Especially when Vicky Gill says for their Lindy Hop Kellie has asked for a flapper dress.

I'm not criticising their showdance choice... It's one I'm really looking forward to -- the best music! -- but I fear they're going to look more one-note than they really are in the Final.

Plus, sorry to say, Star Wars Charleston vs GG's razzle dazzle one is a contest they may lose... IMO

Audience members at Saturday's ahow already heard Jay reveal that they wouldn't be doing that jive again (keeping that special moment as it was, and no pressure to perfect it). I think the Beeb didn't want that to be widely known too soon!

Looking forward to having the dance list complete!

I have to say, I have zero recollection of Jay's paso...not music, outfits, nada! I can recall all the others.

I agree - floating voters will most likely decide because of the show dance. Also, the majority of voting may well have taken place before the couples favourite dances have been performed.

I didn't remember it either! I'm hoping it was just because it was an early week (??) -- I missed a few of those.

It IS Perfect; The audience response was incredible that night; they couldnt stop clapping throughout the dance and it had a huge standing ovation (best of the night ) at the end.

I am glad that they didnt choose their rumba or Tango; I was afraid that they would

I couldn't remember it either, nor the song, only the elevation in the middle.

It's a strange one, people usually pick the dances people love and remember from the series, like Kellie and Georgia, people know what songs they did them to.

It's good they picked a dramatic dance to compete with the Charleston fun factor of the girls and didn't go for the simpering rumba. But I could barely remember their paso either before I rewatched.

Thanks for the link. It was like seeing it for the first time again - still didn't bring any memories back! Lots of potential to improve - good choreo and song, but a bit 'walky' and 'Move A then Move B then Move C'... better transitions and more attack might be a belter on the night
