QS isn't their choice, though Jay did say how much he enjoyed the QSathon. Paso was one they did enjoy doing at the time.
It wasn't a well kept secret, they weren't asked about it and it was released online at the same time as the others. As it stands now Jay is the only one we know all 3 dances. We still don't know Katie's but nobody is talking about what 'secret' that one is.

Typical, they couldn't let Anita be the highest scorer for at least one dance this year?!

I very much doubt their thought process was, "What dance can we choose to score one over on Anita?" I'm sure it was more along the lines of, "Which dance did we enjoy doing the most? That's what we'll choose for our favourite dance." I'd be surprised if Anita even entered their heads -- they've got quite enough to worry about with perfecting three dances this week.

I know the QS is judges' choice. My post was responding to someone who said they were dancing their loved dances (plural).

That is why I included the QS in addition to the paso when questioning how we know they loved those above others.

I was referring to them loving the paso above others as being a well-kept secret, as that's how it's being touted by people on here now: that it was their favourite dance (though they haven't said it themselves as the reason they have picked it).

Katie's one isn't a big deal as she hasn't yet said she's not going to dance her most crowd pleasing routine (whichever that is). If she suddenly picked a latin number or something, I'm sure people would be questioning it.

They're not obliged to make a public announcement but the idea that they are dancing the paso because it's their favourite or loved dance is pure projection - when have they said this? It's just a guess. All we know is that Jay is too nervous to re-dance the jive, and that they want to savour that special moment. That indicates the jive is more special to them than the paso. But it's all guesswork.

Actually, even with a public vote this time, I suspect we would have gotten some of the dances the couples have ended up picking - G&G's charleston, K&K's charleston and K&A's VW likely would have been at or near the top of my picks (only G&G's samba instead perhaps, as I loved it so much). The glaring omission is the jive. The thing is, had the paso really, truly been J&A's favourite dance, they could still have picked it as their choice. But, as everyone has said, the decisions are made, there's no getting that jive back, and it is really rather sad! ”

Very good suggestion. I hope they remedy this next year.

I was hoping they would dance their tango again. It is my favourite dance of Jay's.

On an interview they did on radio Kellie said they couldnt choose one of the dances that have done in last 3 or 4 weeks.

It was my second favourite so I was hoping this too before the paso revelation.

Ah, Jay's jive was ripe for the picking even more then...

I guess the only problem with a viewer vote for final dance is the danger of a negative vote - if one couple is overwhelmingly popular, their fans may vote for the rival couple to dance their worst dance - like making Katie dance latin to stop her winning or something.

Yes, the public would have to be given a specific selection of three or four dances for each couple to choose from.

I know that.

I was just ranting.

It could have been a typo if you knew it was judges choice why get so nicety about it.

None of them have ever mentioned particularly throughout the series what their favourite dance was. They have all said ones they have enjoyed doing more than others, Paso was one Jay enjoyed why is that so hard for people to get? He doesn't want to ruin his memory of the Jive as it was such a perfect moment so they ruled that one out, I completely understand why they did that. People are a acting like it's come out of nowhere. It's one of his popular dances maybe they want to tweak things within the dance that he has learned since then to make it better? The Jive was already perfect, if anyone wants to see it again it's on YouTube.

I think the Paso is a great choice. I personally love the song, and Pasos are dramatic and eye catching, which is great for a finally. It's a complete contrast to the QS too.

I'm the opposite to you Shelley... Love the song but not convinced it facilitates a great paso. Hope I'm wrong when they reveal their changes to the dance.

As the judges chose the QS I wasn't actually including that but referring to their Paso and the steps they're putting into their showdance routine which have been referred to as their "favourite" bits from their "favourite" dances on a number of occasions.

Ok, thank you. Then that explains it.

I wasn't too keen on his paso but the tango was fantastic. That's a shame.
