Sia debuts Rihanna rejected song: Cheap Thrills
I love this. Sounds so much like old school Rihanna when her songs just made for a party.
Probably not the musical direction she wants to go in but chances are it would of been a hit for her, and considering how lost at sea she seems at the moment... a bad decision imo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1b22l1kFKY |

Does she reveal every artist that rejected her song before she releases it?

Shame, Rihanna's voice would have really elevated this song.

Alive was just dirge so it would've been perfect for Adele really
. Rihanna also rejected that song. As for this it doesn't sound like a Rihanna song to me. In fact the lyrics are the opposite to the image Rihanna tries to portray.

Do we know who Bird Set Free and A Million Bullets were for? Obviously Alive was for Adele which I think she were STUPID for turning down. Her vocal on that would have smashed the shit out of everything else out there

I'm glad Rihanna did not record this.
Cheap thrills is the worst Sia single apart from Big girls don't cry |

It's not a Rihanna song for me. Just can't see her singing lyrics like that and given the sort of album ANTI is its hardly surprising that she rejected it. I like the song though and the Sean Paul remix adds something to it for me.

Big Girls Cry is one of my favorite Sia songs, pure emotion!
And I am glad Rihanna rejected it, it's a fun song and I'm glad Sia recorded it. We all know the real smash is Move Your Body as rejected by Shakira though. If this is not a single then summer is wasted! |
