I'm surprised regarding the charts that out of the classics that are in there, slade is right near the bottom!!! At number 12 is Mariah Carey and a bit further down the Pogues.

Thing is do we start buying Greg Lakes song just for something palatable? It's ultimately down to sales, and judging by my recent experiences with MTV, are down to crappy music taste.

It's today.

All sales and streaming from today right up until next Thursday at midnight will count towards this years Christmas chart.

I actually think Justin Bieber has a surprisingly good chance of having this years Xmas #1 even though Love Yourself has already been #1 for 3 weeks. It's definitely proved to be popular despite never being confirmed as a single afaik.

I can't see that NHS Choir charity single getting to #1. Think it'll go the same way as Louisa Johnson. Start off the week #1 on iTunes but come next Thursday will be low top 10, and lack of streaming will push the song down the chart.

I've no idea why it's always said to be one of the nations favourites. Mariah, Pogues, Band Aid, Wham, wizard and shakey always perform much better year on year out.

I'd go as far to say it's my least favourite Xmas song

Hmm, I do beg to differ there Hitstastic.. purely for the sole reason that the NHS Choir has been gaining social/ general media interest over the past few days, whereas, which you rightly put, the X Factor interest for the winners song waned since Sunday... hence it scraping into the current top ten. I personally believe this years Xmas #1 will be the choir mash-up.. if only to get flippin' Bieber off #1 for one week at least. He's hogged half of the past four months at #1 as it is.. even more reason to get a UK charity cause for the coveted Xmas UK #1.
