How much weight to put on the polls? And which ones do you trust?

The percentage of people that use forums and vote in polls is probably quite low.

Of the 30+ people I know that watch the programme,I am the only one that uses such measures of popularity.

Of these people a large proportion do not vote regularly, but do vote in the final.

To take existing polls as a benchmark of how the result will pan out is somewhat tenuous and the only thing I can ascertain from a straw poll of the people I know is that Katie will not win.

Well, different strokes and all that, but it does irritate me when people write off Jay's dancing as if he came into the competition a fully formed ballroom and Latin dancer who was just a bit rusty.

We must have watched a different show.

He's had to work his arse off just as much as all the other celebrities. He's never danced ballroom and latin before. He's one of a number of celebs this year who started with a 'significant' amount of dance background. For some reason, Georgia's dance training and performing arts school is disregarded (same as Helen's was. Likewise Kellie's), but Jay's is held against him. I truly don't understand it.

He can be argued that Georgia and Kellies dance training was better as they would covered all aspects of dance.

Jay I believe did Ballet and Contemporary at college and Helen only did Ballet, which was proved to have been a disadvantage to her.

Helen certainly didn't only do ballet, she did a full course in musical theatre at the Royal Academy Of Music. Also I don't buy that doing ballet was such a disadvantage in the first place. Certainly it seems to help Jay that he gets to ditch half of most of the elegant ballroom routines in favour of wafting about.

Whereas Georgia is a me me jumping up and down on the spot. Too in your face as opposed to natural. That's of course my opinion

Can we keep this thread about Poles, please.

Where is Ola anyway?

Mine too, she seems so desperate, while Jay is so laid back and cool.

Oh .. we've had a post about who the 'real winner' is before the result is even in. Quality!
Please watch Jay's first dance and compare it to Jay now and do the same with Georgia.
Also read their end of term reports (written by themselves) and then tell me which out of all of them is 'personally tedious'.

Some polls have Kellie & KFG ahead of GMF, which would appear to be consistent with most other recent indicators.

Incidentally, even I worked out how the Telegraph poll could be 'hacked', around week 5-ish - but refrained from doing so, as I've got better things to do with my time (I like to watch the "Fat Dog" scene over & over again...)

Series 11 of Strictly was utterly ruined by the BBC's ridiculously 'hackable' & technically basic-beyond-belief online voting system (ever wondered why they reduced the number of votes you are allowed from 5 to 3 after that?). It's a bit more secure nowadays, but probably still far from immune to abuse, sadly

The strictly-spolier-parasite dude's poll is possibly the most accurate, but again - like the vast majority of online polls - ultimately untrustable due to it's inherent insecurity.
Funnily enough though, whenever a poll is 'hacked', the most likely cause is actually: an inside job! No hacking required, just the right access/privileges.

Any poll that has Jay ahead of correct and any poll that has Jay not ahead is a fix apparently.
