Last week Anita and Gleb was all pazazz and no technique or beauty - they paid the price.

It's a balancing act.”

Good analysis.

Majority of people on Twitter seem to want Jay to win. He has been only the third best dancer tonight. It's a shame that so many people seem to decide who they are going to vote for BEFORE they watch the actual show. It would seem to defy the entire point.

Ooops. Might only have been four.
According to wikipedia Ramps & Karen danced a tango, salsa, and samba; Matt Dawson and Lilia danced waltz, samba, quickstep. Plus their showdances.

Series 5 also had a two-couple final (Matt D'Angelo and Alesha Dixon) who each did three dances plus their showdance.

Agreed.

Could do with replacing the Judges Choice with the Publics choice - say a poll with 4 dances by the partners and the public pick their favourite for the celebrity to dance.

Much more transparent and allows the public to see a routine they want again. I'll be honest I'd totally forgotten what Kellie's tango and Katie's quickstep were like until tonight.

lol exactly. I'm guessing that's why the showdance is no longer the final dance we see, especially as it's often the best dancers of the series who end up with the spectacular crap, and then we end up with a Chris Hollins with the glitter ball in his hands!

I don't get why they didn't pick it. I don't particularly want Jay to win, but I would have thought fair enough if he had smashed the jive and then went onto win. As it stands it looks likely he will win but on lacklustre dances (so far).

The point of the show - especially the final - is that the public vote for who they want to win. Whatever criteria they use to vote is up to them at the end of the day.

Rather appropriate that Georgia danced to Fix You considering she was screwed out of a possible win tonight.

Mr Bernay got there before m!

'Strictly' is trending on its own which is a general one but the other one is just about Jay! It takes a fair bit of tweeting to get something trending!

The public gets what the public wants, Mr Paul Weller once sang. These are the finalists the GBP wanted, so you gets what ya wanted.
I thought the Final would be a bit flat without Anita and Gleb, and it was. Whatever you thought of them, kinda know their show dance would have been amazing.
It end up a bit meh, no surprise to me

And there was me thinking you were going to love it, Heather.

I never enjoy the showdances, always feel underawed and rather we'd see the couples either perform another previous dance or preferably, there is one dance that is saved for the final, done by all couples, as a better comparison.

I think Jay has been the best throughout the series but he wasn't the best dancer tonight. I actually liked his showdance as a routine but as people have said it wasn't completely memorable.

Actually Georgia is pronouncing it quite correctly. In Italian Gio is pronounced Joe. The i is not sounded.

A potential problem with this I guess could be that if the public were in a 'naughty' mood, they could sway it for a couple to get a dance that did them no favours ie. Katie & Anton having to re-visit a Latin routine

I haven't seen one dance worth 10.”

Judges aren't presenters. they aren't commentators - they are judges - the judge - of course it will be biased - they will give the highest score to who they perceived danced best - that's what judges do.

Exactly this. None of his dances tonight have been showstoppers like Kellie or Georgia. That jive is in my personal top three tbh.

Kellie's 40/40 tango is very, very similar to Lisa's forgettable 40/40 cha cha. And to think Kara and Alesha never got full marks -embarrassing.

Or perhaps people are voting for Jay based on the whole series.

Also, which producer gave the disastrous idea of giving Katie the last slot of the 1st show. She is probably out 4th anyway but come on now....
