It was beautifully clever, slick and sexy, but I suspect far too sophisticated for the average, who much prefer an 'in your face' gurnfest with lot of tricks and not much dancing.

SCD has become a lot more vulgar and obvious, so subtle doesn't really work for everyone.

I liked it, I don't vote so whoever wins, wins. However, I am glad I got to see dancers like Jay and Helen. Kellie should stick to acting.

The rest are forgettable, apart from Jeremy - who is a mensch!

Misfired.
Kevin and Kellie pitched it right for a TV Saturday Night audience - damn them!

A tad patronising , we are not all trained dancers . I am guessing Come Dancing didnt last because most viewers are casual light entertainment viewers like me > Aliona misjudged the audience in my opinion

I enjoyed it, as it was something very different and excellently performed.
When else would they have had the opportunity to showcase the best bits from all his dances ?
Much better than the frantic offering from Kellie and Kevin, or Katie and Anton's non event.
Only Georgia and Giovanni came closer.

Aliona dragged him to the final and then ran out of decent choreography for his show dance? Cop out really!

I enjoyed it and thought it was subtle and clever, and I'm anything but a trained dancer.

She played to his strengths which is technical excellence without putting too much pressure on him to perform through acting or razzle dazzle. Disappointing for a showdance but I suppose they know they've got it sewn up anyway so who cares.

I never watched Come Dancing so I wouldn't know. Aliona and Jay did what they wanted to do, and it suited them.

I hardly think Jay will be hankering after a plastic glitter ball. I don't think he'll give a damn, frankly

The only one who wants it desperately is Kellie, and after that gurnfest of a hideous Lindy Hop she might get it. It was certainly vulgar enough

I was hoping the music would change halfway into 'Pump It' and he'd perform a bit of the Jive and blow the roof off!

It wasn't a disaster, but it was very dull.

I liked Jay's show dance but it was too subtle maybe for the final, I'd prefer Jay to win and if not him Georgia. I don't like Kelly's dancing even though she's good ( and so she should be she's danced since she was a child). I thought her show dance was crude and ugly and I feel nothing when I watch her..

Pretty uncalled for. Can't you support Jay without trashing the other finalists?

Has Aliona done an Erin, with Colin Jackson, and messed up the show dance??
Exactly my thoughts. She had tears in her eyes after the judges' comments. She's now a broken woman - I doubt she'll have the same pzazz ever again - unless by some miracle they're saved by the public vote.

Talking of broken, DS multiquote seems to be knackered. What's the matter with them, they just get worse and worse.

Subtle is beautiful but there needs to be passion. Tonight it was almost as if they couldn't be bothered so just threw a few bits they'd prepared earlier together.

Unfortunately the flow of the choreography wasn't sophisticated. It was just dull. It didn't work with the music particularly well and the routine had no ebb and flow, no crescendo. It was just bits stick together with transition steps and no real thought.

Part of choreography is to work with the music, to understand the dance is a story - Aliona totally missed that tonight.

agree with this, it was surprisingly unsophisticated, maybe they did it like that to ensure everyone recognised the 'quotes'. i much preferred G&G's approach to reusing past steps.

Yes, I know that already.

Perhaps for you it might not work, but as a dancer myself I'd be quite happy to dance that routine and it worked for me.

But what works for one dancer does not work for another. Normal really,

Well, Jay and Aliona did it!

He looked a bit overcome though.

Easy enough to say after the fact, but I wasn't concerned. I thought enough people voting would appreciate how well he danced it.
