Joanne Clifton looked like she'd swallowed a wasp. Karen just looked gutted, which is fair enough.

I could not understand why Joanne was given so much to do (especially on ITT) when there was no celeb partner for her this year. Then she grew on me a bit when she was so good on choreography corner. But then I went off her again when she dissed Jay's VW and did nothing but praise her brother's partner. Uncalled for.

There are just too many Cliftons on the show. At least one of them needs to go.

As much as I love Aliona in a way I hope she does what Camilla Dallerup did and leaves the show as a champion - double champion in her case. She will only get duds from now on if she stays and that would be a real shame.

Len is a disgrace. The carry on of him on finals night was utterly unprofessional. If anyone dares disagree with him he sits there with a face like thunder. I really really want him to go now.

1) Jay's Paso was the best of the regular dances and his showdance was impressive and lyrical albeit unconventional. Deserved winner over the series and maybe even on the night. Aliona is superb.

2) Kellie did herself proud in the final with great performances. Possibly deserved to be on top on the night but perhaps not enough contrast among her dances to make it undeniable. Best Charleston of the final too.

3) Georgia was solid and competent as ever. Just a bit boring for me with nothing in any of her dances that interested me. Over-hyped Charleston was the best for her but was hoping she would grab my interest more overall.

4) Katie gave it a good go but I feel bad for her that the format meant one weaker dance then tricky showdance then not allowed to have a moment to shine. Judges comments to her left a sour taste which was a shame.

5) Flow of the show, presenters, and group dance stuff were all really good. Judges should pick their favourite dances not the weakest so that the show is more entertaining. Len really needs to go.

I have squeezed more than 5 thoughts in by putting them in sections.

1) I'm glad Jay won as he was my favourite throughout the series - some beautiful and dramatic dancing. My personal highlight was their tango. Comes over has a humble, quiet and understated person. Hope he does well in the future and carry's on dancing

2) Team GG were wonderful and my second favourites - they really grew as a partnership and I hope Joe Varney returns next year.

3) Katie - gorgeous elegant and gracious and I'm glad Anton got his final but don't mind too much if he didn't return

4) Kellie great performer and possibly better than Jay on the evening but not throughout the series as a whole for me. I did think they were going to sneak the win though and was surprised (and pleased) when Jay and Aliona were announced as champions.

5) Didn't appreciate the chanting 'ten ten ten' from the Claudutiorum ('cuse spelling lol). It's all very well being supportive but way to go to make the other couples feel bad. Not very British!

Great thread and I've loved reading everyone's thoughts throughout the series.

1) This could have been a really magical Final with the right finalists. Missed Anita and Helen. As it was, some good moments but overall a bit flat and entirely predictable.

2) Gleb and Anita's absence was noticeable tonight. None of the pros seemed to have got the memo about what a showdance is. Doesn't have to be flashy/ packed with lifts (which I hate) but they throw away the rulebook for a reason. So you can do something innovative, new and take a bit of a bleeding risk. You can demonstrate the skills you've acquired without just doing a half-arsed mash up of all your former dances. Didn't especially like KK's but at least it went halfway towards fulfilling the brief. Likewise not redoing the jive was a big mistake. A bit of fearlessness works wonders.

3) Katie was embarrassing tonight. She was miles behind the others throughout the competition and stuck out like a sore thumb tonight. It would've been kinder to let her go last week.

4) Strange to think Peter, Jamelia, Kirsty and Carol were ever a part of the show. Was great seeing everyone back together.

5) Aliona was lovely at the end.

That's harsh - Katie was dancing with a bad back, very painful, but we were not treated to the ugly back strapping that appeared for Kate Garroway. Incidentally in the competition she was not "miles behind the others" - apart from 2 dances before the semis, she got consistently good scores.
The only dancer I would have substituted in the final would have been Helen, not the ungraceful Anita.
