Do they reveal the public vote? I think Jay would have won by a landside. Those doe, caught in the headlight eyes, are enough to make any woman and man that way inclined melt at the knees.

Nah the most predictable final in SCD history. I knew exactly the placings before the final started. Even posted them on here last Sunday. Said I would just enjoy the dancing. Sadly that was mediocre. Bleugh end to a below par series.

I think the last 5 were all in with a chance at one time (excluding Katie and Anton), so it all came down to who was your favourite.

You were obviously watching Series 14, then.

I watched the screen, having forgotten to register for an online vote, really wondering which one it would be.

He says that every year I'm giving my opinion and for me it has been a below par series. When you've got a dancer of the calibre of Katie in the final surely that it evidence enough.

I think it was the closest series for a while in terms of the dancing ability of the final three, but I suspect Jay had a huge advantage from start to finish as far as fan bases go.

My guess is Jay polled more votes every week than all of the other celebs together. We'll never know though and at the end of the Strictly is a popularity competition and the most popular celeb won.

At least all of the finalists could dance to a good standard and the likes of an AW level celeb has still got close to that glitterball.

That became clear the way that celebrities were falling in and out of the dance off. The rest were only separated by small % so easy to move up and down the final scoreboard. Anyone with a ounce of statistical understanding could see what was happening. I agree about dancing ability though that was far closer. Jay wasn't the phenomenal dancer streets ahead of everyone else that some of his fan base claimed him to be. He had the potential to be after the Jive but it never materialised.

I'm sorry - I disagree. I was mesmerised by his dancing every single week. He moved with such grace I was simply spellbound. I think all the other couples threw in tricks, lifts and gimics but he just didn't need to.

Beautiful dancer IMO.

The couples on paper would all have had to be very close (skill wise) to call it a close final, and then on top of that, on the day, they'd all have had to perform so well that it would be realllllly hard to call the result. None of those two points were the case, esp as none of the couples danced their best (already learned) dances based on the way the choices came about, so no, not a close final, imo.
