Agree. Personally I thought all 3 finalists were superb but Jai was the best throughout the series which imo means the winner.

I did think Kellie was amazing last night though.

It's hard to capture how I feel

I love aspects of the way Jay dances - his intensity, his armography, his ability to make difficult combinations of steps look easy and I wanted him to achieve all this and more in a sustained way throughout each of the dances last night and win the gliterball on the basis of having outdanced his opponents in the final. I always knew he was going to win.

I enjoyed what he delivered last night and Aliona has always been one of my favourite pros so I'm really happy for her and I love the working and personal relationship Jay and Aliona have - so good to see and even better to experience.

The rub is that both Kellie and Georgia were better dancers last night so I didn't get the ending I wanted. I also feel a tad sorry for them because no matter how hard they worked they could never win against such an overwhelmingly popular contestant. This unsettles me even though I know it's just a light entertainment show when push comes to shove but on a more positive note they both clearly discovered the magic of dance and where it can take you. Hopefully they can take solace in the knowledge of how well they danced last night.

Well said!

At least Georgia is good at different dances - jay will rely on the one dance to try and win everytime!

For me Kellie and kevin was never an option of winning the judges tried every trick in the book got rid of Anita at first opportunity who clearly would have prevented kellie getting top 3 finish. They also undervalued Kellie during middle of series then she brilliant again in semi final and final.

Of all the dances craig could have awarded 10 neither of kellies dance deserved 10s

Also judges choice picked one of kellies best and yet were not prepared to pick better dances from Jay and Georgia

For me on the night Georgia was best on night by a distance but Jay was better throughout the series and viewers felt that was enough.

however especially first half final was underwhelming dare I say it missed anita and gleb.

What, the dance that he didn't dance last night? When he won?

That's some impressive levels of doublethink, right there.

I wouldn't say that am disappointed that Jay won, but his win was a bit 'meh'. It was predictable. Plus, I was never a fan of Jay. I didn't get the hype about him. Everyone says his jive was amazing but even that didn't excite me.

You're hard to please then.

Almost exactly this for me (I'm not a huge fan of Aliona as I think she went a bit crazy with the choreography with Matt Baker and I've not really liked her as much since).

I had no favourite last night so settled down to be entertained by 3 great dancers and Katie's wonderful legs. Sadly we hardly saw Katie's legs and, for me, only Georgia danced in a way that I loved.

I didn't like Kellie's tango the first time round and it was just as bizarre the second. And I loathe beyond words the lindyhop. It is such a stupid dance.

Jay wasn't impressive either. His quickstep was not great (and bloomin' stupid music for it) and the showdance was just disappointing. I still don't understand why he was hanging upside down at the beginning

So when the show started I'd have been happy with any of them winning (even Katie's legs) at the end it seemed a little like the Jamelia and Peter situation in that Jay was arguably (just!) the better dancer so he won despite not performing the best on the night.

It's hardly an awful result. He ended the series with the joint highest total points and joint highest average weekly points, both with Kellie. Granted he underperformed in the final and Kellie (going by the judges questionable marks) overperformed, this is still nowhere near a Chris Hollins level event imo.

Surely if that was the case he would have done that one dance in the final then.

Good looking young man in Strictly Come Dancing victory shocker!

^This

That for me is why Kellie didn't win, Kevin is now 0 for 3 he needs to stop overpowering the faster dances, their show dance looked a mess and their Charleston showed the gap between her and Georgia.

The most inane, ridiculous comment I've read on this board for this series of SCD

I'm not disappointed that he won as it was certain that it would happen.

I'm disappointed that it didn't really seem deserved based on last night performances. I think Georgia and Kellie both outdanced him.

I think as a final it fell quite flat due to the inevitability of the outcome. There didn't even appear to be much excitement when the result was announced.

Every man who has won the show has fallen into the mould of being attractive. Obviously they have been good dancers too, as has Jay, but you have to be naive in the extreme to think it doesn't play a part. The show is watched predominately by women.

If you think Chris Hollins was in any way attractive I'd respectfully suggest you book yourself in to see your GP/optician immediately.

All the female winners have been very attractive too.

The Final is based on the public vote and the public vote only.

Some people seem to have difficulty with that concept.

It's not the same as the Olympics where you get to the Final and it's decided on who performs the best in the Final.

Jay and Aliona had the best scores going into the final and a lot of people had enjoyed their dancing, chemistry and teamwork in the first 12 weeks. Jay and Aliona did the Series their way - as a team. It wasn't the way anyone else wanted - it was their way. They approached the Final in their own way too.

Enough people liked that way for them to win.

That's the way the show works.

Also it'd have been nice if they'd looked a little pleased about winning. I think one of the major reasons people vote for their favourite is because you want them to see them so happy about winning and Jay and Aliona just looked a bit not bothered. This might sound stupidly picky but did they even bother to lift the trophy because it looked to me like they just held it awkwardly together?

I'm sure I'm going to get torn to shreds by Jay fans about this but it just left the end to a great series feeling flat. He's shown throughout he's a good dancer so no, not a terrible winner. Just for me I'd have preferred a winner that really proved themselves on the night and one that would have been rather happy about winning not just a bit nonchalant.”

Agree, agree, agree. He buried his face in hands, then they looked at each other and it looked like they thought, "Oh, we won. Nice". I don't think I ever saw a more underwhelming reaction to someone winning something.

He and Aliona knew they didn't have to repeat the Jive as they knew very well they had it in the bag already. And this is maybe what pisses me off most. They knew they just had to show up and that was it. The showdance had no show in it, it just looked like they made no effort at all, worse, it looked like pure piss taking. It looked like he was "in da club" with an ambient track playing in the background and making some completely disconnected moves. How they thought some ballroom and latin moves could possibly be danced to that song baffles me, hence song and dance looking totally mismatched.

Lord knows I didn't like him but if at least he had come out and given his all I would have thought, "Well, that's a worthy winner". He could have danced like a champion but sadly didn't, therefore the disappointment.

I've said it before, Kellie is a hoofer, she lacks some natural grace whilst being hugely energetic and determined to get it right. Kellie's charleston fell short when shown immediately after Georgia's. How the judges could mark them the same I have no clue.

Jay, who I personally do not find attractive, had a certain poetry in his movements, when good he blasted the rest out of the water, he was exquisite at times. Kellie was never exquisite.

Well said. She was rarely even subtle although she tried very hard in her Rhumba.

Her final dances were all 'full on', fine, but it didn't showcase her as an all round 'better' dancer than the others.

Two Charleston like dances, one of which was obviously not as good as the other, and compared to a Paso which was very difficult and exquisitely performed, doesn't make Kellie, or Georgia, for that matter some 'better' dancer.

Or even a better dancer on the night.

The Judge's comments really annoyed me, graceless and wrong - they all were deserving winners, and Jay WON.

I felt it took the shine off their victory for them, and was needlessly unpleasant and unfair.
