What a ridiculous thing to say. I do not perceive Kevin in that way so evidence your perception before stating it as fact.

Are you really trying to say that they were worse than Jay in the first part of the final?? Did the judges make them do that rubbish showdance?

If they wanted Jay to loose they wouldn't of had been so harsh on him in part 1. The judges know damn well that the public like to vote against the judges.

It got similarly huge ratings last year without him - that's the beauty of SCD; who is on it rarely makes a blind bit of difference to how popular it is. It's an enduring format that's popular in its own right and would've achieved those ratings regardless.

Indeed Jay has no personality. So won't get west end or music offers. Aliona will run back to her sugar daddy

So how long have you known him then?? surely you need to know him to make that opinion??

Questions have to be asked about 40 being awarded to a Tango danced in ballroom hold. I think more than one person smelt a rat at that point if not before.

Who hates him? Who has said that about him? I haven't and I don't think anyone else has either at least not on this thread. He's a brilliant choreographer. But I think they thought he was owed a win.

made to measure's post implies he dislikes him intensely for starters and most of the NAT contributees. It's not hard to find Kevi negativity on DS.

Clearly? So explain why they got better marks than the other two couples then? ”

Can you CLEARLY explain to us what part of the judges' marks not counting that you dont get. Are you a sheep?

Hang on Leicester_Hunk, if you agree that Kellie "WAS" the best 'on the night' then what was manipulative about the judges giving her the best marks on the night ?

i don't think they do vote for consistency, but Kellie was just as consistent as Jay.

Normally in BTango the womans thumb is tucked into the mans armpit and the mans hand is slightly further round the womans back.

The judges have been doing this long enough to know that their opinion is not going to sway the public, in fact it can often have the opposite effect i.e "OMG he criticised my favourite, how dare s/he!" *picks up phone stomps feet* "I'll show them!" type thing.

I don't get why people think the judges giving their option is bias, it's ridiculous.

Certainly overmarked considering they made a very obvious mistake.

Thanks Monaogg - was just about to come back to say that! Plus Kellie was more vase-shaped in hold rather than upright.

No it isn't and I really wish I had a quid for every time this argument is brought up.

Quote:
“Beeb employee Fenia Vardanis: “Out of the blue, I said ‘ballroom dan*cing’.

“My vision was for an entertainment show first and foremost, with celebrities out of their comfort zone.”

And so the global phenomenon was born – although Fenia admits that at the beginning, most critics thought the idea was preposterous.

“People thought we were mad – that we had completely lost it - at first,” she says.

“Who would have thought that it would turn into the monster it has become?”

i don't understands how your answer relates to the other poster's comment about being in hold. Thumb or not they are in hold right? So did the original poster object to the thumb position when they wrote ballroom hold?

He is more suited for Butlin stage.

A ballroom hold is not upright. I feel like I'm in George Orwell's 1984. What you and Monaogg write makes little sense but I shall seek my sense from those who dance the tango. Goodnight.

As the judges marks don't count - why bother with the leaderboard in the final?

By this stage of the competition, I think most viewers can predict what the judges will say to any of the couples, and I for one didn't appreciate the hatchet job they gave poor Katie this evening (and indeed all the way through the series).

All of the first round dances were pretty much of a muchness - and none of them deserved 40 - especially the tango (Jay was frequently criticised for lack of facial expression - but K&K had waaaaay too much facial expression for a tango). Showdances were all a bit Meh! And as far as the battle of the Charlestons was concerned - G&G won that hands down, but Jays paso was fabulous!

I don't hate Kevin, but I don't particularly like him - he's too cheesy and OTT for my taste, and I'm tired of the "from Grimsby" nonsense. I think that he over dances everything and he can overshadow his celeb at times - and not only to mask their faults!
