All three finalists were winners
Well what a series
Firstly many congratulations to Jay & Aliona on lifting the glitterball!! Maybe not the best performers on the night but throughout the competition they have been brilliant & I have no problem with them winning!! Secondly what about Kellie & Kevin tonight!!! They won the night in scoring terms & must have won legions of new fans with those routines!! Also she is living proof you can be a worthy Strictly winner and hold down a busy soap job if you are prepared to commit yourself!! Finally Georgia, my own little favourite of the series by some distance!! So graceful & gorgeous to watch!! My favourite showdance (that opening sequence was beyond incredible) & that Charleston, still my dance of the series by a mile, just love it!! How wonderful must it have been for her for Craig to say (and obviously mean) that he would put her straight into any of his West End productions, no wonder she was emotional!!! So there we have it , one glitterball but three winners!! Well done to them all!! |

Totally agree with everything op 👏👏👏 any of the final 3 would have been worthy! And as much as it would have been a dream for team GG to lift the glitterball I'm still really happy for jay and Aliona, and they have SOME of the loveliest fans
so well done to them and all the other finalists!

No, only Jay was a winner, you're completely wrong (sorry, I'm not used to seeing a DS thread get this far with only positive comments...)
I agree, actually. For all my many, many dance-based and non-dance-based grumbles, I've really enjoyed it this year. |

What a lovely thread (and a refreshing change from the barrage of negative, flamebaiting etc ones).
I honestly hope that people respond to this one more than the others, and in a positive manner - ie we all have points we don't like and that can be expressed on such a forum but there are ways to do so..... and there's nothing stopping anyone from being gracious. |

I agree. I'd have been equally happy for any of the Final 3 to win; makes a nice change.

They were by far the best overall dancers in the whole competition and did incredibly well. I don't think the top three has ever been more 'right'.
Also well done to Katie for going out there and giving it a go despite, by her own admission, being the weaker link and being so utterly graceful in defeat. What a lovely lady. |

Hear hear! It was absolutely fabulous, and I'd have been happy whoever had won. Everyone else did their best too, and I enjoyed so much about this season. I'm another fan of Georgia & Giovanni, but my favourite dances of the series included Katie and Anton's rumba and American Smooth, Helen's foxtrot and Peter's cha cha cha.
It was a simply wonderful show tonight! |

GREAT post! We had 3 worthy winners tonight, and I really didn't mind who won, and I suspect that a 3 finalists weren't too upset either, whichever way it went. All 3 couples were great!

I agree. I've not actually had a particular favourite this year (although last year despite Simon being my favourite, I'd have been happy with anyone once Mark had no chance) but would have been happy with any of the three finalists winning.
Slightly disappointed that Jay had to have his poor night in the final but he's been brilliant throughout. Kellie really upped her game over the past few weeks and was brilliant tonight. And Georgia was gorgeous as always. |

I have to agree! Jay was my favourite, so I'm thrilled he won, but the standard was so high that I couldn't complain about any result.

I thought it was lovely that the final three all got to take something special away with them - Kellie the only dancer to get two perfect scores this series, Georgia on the receiving end of that incredible compliment from Craig, and Jay the deserved winner.
And yes, honourable mention to Katie who knew herself she wasn't in their league dance-wise but has the satisfaction of being the only person in 13 series to get Anton to the final. |

Completely agree with all of the above. I think it will be Georgia who gets the most out of it. If her agent isn't ringing Craig Revel-Horwood about that very public job offer this morning, she will be needing a new agent by tonight.
Congratulations to Jay and Aliona - deserved winners overall, even if they ran out of steam slightly at the death. And congratulations also to Kellie and Kevin who gave it their all and deservedly topped the leaderboard. Finally, well done Katie. Thanks to her, Anton got his final at last. |
