I don't feel strongly about Kevin either way but to be fair to him I think the only slightly ringy partner I remember him getting was Frankie. Before the show started I don't think you would have put Susannah as a finalist and Kellie has the stage school background, but before the show I would have put her in around the time Helen went out so he did well with all his partners.

Ignoring the kind of mean title I would love to see Kevin with a less capable partner because I think he would embrace them like Karen does, it would interesting to see. I am not so keen on the Aliona types who (appear to) turn their nose up at duffers, as they are a big part of the show.

To be fair to Aliona I don't think she turned her nose up at Tony Jacklin? I think she had issues with Gregg Wallace that any pro would have had.

He'll get an athletic sportswoman with two left feet. There's no point in making a Mary Berry try to keep up with Kevin's frenetic dancing!

There apparently was an interview lastyear where she complained about being sick of constantly getting duffers.

I expect he'll work at teaching his partner to fulfil her potential, whatever limits she brings to the show.

And I have to be plain and say I find 'fat dollop' a pretty poor way to describe (and dismiss) someone. Bloody hell... Mark Benton is the definition of fat dollop if you're going to be so trivial but he carried real emotion in his dances. Movement isn't only about flexibility, muscle, agility... It's also about feeling, spirit, meaning
Agree. Mark Benton was one of my favourites, acting and emotion are also a big part of dance to me. I know nothing about the technical stuff but I know what I find entertaining and he was to me.

Ah but that'd prove a point to Kevin's detractors. If he can't tone it down for a coffin dodger, he's not as good as he should be for a show like Strictly.

Yes, I did add the "appears to" as I just always got that impression from her reactions plus interviews I have read, but I agree Greg didn't come across well .

Looking at her record:
Rav Wilding (eliminated in week three)
Matt Baker (second)
Harry Judd (winner)
Tony Jacklin (eliminated in week two)
Gregg Wallace (eliminated in week two)
Jay McGuinness (winner)

It's certainly a case of feast and famine with her! I suppose getting eliminated first two years in a row can be biting but considering the likes of Ola has never been handed an out and out favourite (Chris certainly cannot count) I don't think that's an awful record.

Wasn't she supposed to partner Johnny Ball?

I guess you could argue that the fact she couldn't get any of her duffers very far could be due to her teaching/routines/attitudetoduffers etc or it could be they would have gone out early whatever. Some duffers are always destined to go out early due to lack of fan base or charisma, but then pros like Pasha, Karen etc have all got their less able partners pretty far in the competition. Then again they did have partners with more charisma than say Gregg or Rav did. Having three contenders is nothing to complain about.

How very dare you refer to Saint Mary of Berry as a coffin dodger!
May all your Victoria sponges sink in the middle and may all your bottoms be soggy!

Sorry, sorry, sorry.

*says three Hail Marys and a Hail Holy Queen then does an Act of Contrition*

NB My Victoria sponges have never sunk in the middle but I couldn't possibly comment on my bottom(s).

No professional dancer would injure themselves deliberately, it's lunacy
