It's a shame Aliona's leaving but I'm not surprised at all. At least this time it's on her terms and on a high. Quote:
Anton mentioned on BBC Look North (Humberside and Lincolnshire) last night he was coming back for next year.

As Zoe said on ITT, now Ola has gone , who will wear the cat suits? Seriously though, the dancers have changed on a regular basis, people dropping out and new faces coming in. It makes for a fresher show, or it could get 'samey'. We don't need to worry until next August and anything could happen by then.
But please, replace Ian Waite on ITT!! |

I want Gordana so we can have Trent more than Elena Sambadanova.

Not sure how he can say that given the contracts don't get sorted out until the Spring - that's always been the way and Aljaz & Janette confirmed on their OK magazine blog that the pro lineup will be sorted out over the next few months. I agree with those wishing Trent would return - I've been re-watching pro dances from last season and he really did catch the eye. |

I hope Tristan stays and he gets a good partner because I really like him. I like Kevin aswell but it's about time he had an Anne Widdicombe.

Ola. Kristina. I adore her, but think Aliona might walk. How does she top being the first to win twice? I'm not sure Natalie will do more than one more year. I feel like Brendan and Anton will cling on until the end of time.
I think the pro line up will look very different next year. |

I think Anton and Brendan are always going to get their contract renewed because they are originals so they know it's there's if they want it. I actually don't have a major problem with that - there's a place for Anton, just not with a potential contender like he had this year.
I agree with those wishing Trent would return - I've been re-watching pro dances from last season and he really did catch the eye. I think Brendan would actually make a good judge and would be a better fit there than as a dancer. He's seems a bit tired and to not have much chemistry with his celebs these days. |

Agreed his and Pixie foxtrot to When I'm 64 I thought was a brilliant routine - I don't know why he didn't come back.

Even when I disagreed with the judges, I don't think they've ever been nasty as such. People need to watch the X Factor and then they will be thankful for the Strictly judges.

Oh yes they do!
I'm a fan of James and Ola, and Anton and Erin and used to vote for them despite who they were dancing with. Many of the pros have their own fanbases who will carry them further than their celebs talent might indicate - Natalie, Anton, Iveta, and several of the others too - particularly if they are with one of the lesser known celebs |

The judging system, is a bit of a nonsense.
To be fair the score should be split between "contents of programme and manner of presentation." Then a small mistake in a complex programme wouldn't necessary be the "disaster" it is compared with a well executed "safer routine." Jay and Aliona's showdance would have scored far higher, if that system were in place. But you'd need four judges who all had the technical knowledge as well as ballroom experience. But it's never going to happen, the show works well enough to attract the ratings as it is with the less than professional team we have presently, whose first priority seems to trying to grab as much attention for themselves as possible. |
