What a moment .
Craig saying to Georgia he would be proud to put her in any of his West End shows. One of the loveliest things he has said to any contestant.
He said it to Kimberley too.

The way she said 'Really?' through her tears, so sweet.
She was my favourite of the night, I knew she wouldn't win but when I saw she got 40 for the Charleston & got that comment off Craig - that was the moment she had been waiting for. Wonderful

Lovely Craig. I just really hope she can sing because I would love to see her as Roxie or Sally Bowles, and that's just based on the one Char-less-ton. Craig is directing the Sister Act tour next year and I could see Georgia as Sister Mary Robert (if she has a strong voice), but sadly that role doesn't involve too much strenuous dancing.

It's similar to when Arlene said in the Series 2 final that she hoped to work with Jill one day, after Jill was brave enough to re-perform her outstanding jive.

Jill did go on to do Chicago in the West End I think, before returning to TV.
Yep and she also won an Olivier award for her performance in Legally Blonde a few years ago, which is the highest acclaim you can get for a theatre performance in the UK. Let's hope similar things are in store for Georgia!

It meant so much to her to get that kind of recognition for her performances and not just the dancing as she's performed all of her routines very well and to see how happy she was was very touching.

Who would have thought a Jay fan would come and put a dampener on this. Oh dear.

He's a director for a number of west end shows including a couple for Andrew Lloyd Webber's productions.

That was a sweet and truthful moment. It meant so much to Georgia and you saw the real Craig rather than his panto persona.
I must admit I did laugh though at Claudia's comment to Georgia about Craig's shows!

It was the moment of the series by a mile for me & showed just why so many of us have fallen in love with this girl over the series!! Her wide-eyed enthusiasm, her modesty & her sweet personality will take her far if she can hold onto it all & she seems to be grounded in a loving family which is always going to be a great help to her!!

Best of luck for a bright & glittering future Georgia!!

It's not a dampener at all. I loved Kimberley and thought it was a lovely thing for him to say to her ... and he hasn't said it since until tonight so lovely for Georgia too.
See it your own way though.

I apologise if I misinterpreted. Just looked slightly dubious that your first comment on the thread was one that implied it's been said and done already. There was seemingly no sentiment of support for Georgia or gratitude to Craig.

Even if hes not, I'm sure her futures bright.

She couldn't have achieved much more - great dancing every week, including the final. Ending with the best dance of the night (imo) and getting top marks. She can't control the popularity vote - she achieved everything else though.

I loved Georgia tonight and thought it was hard to pick between her and Kellie as to who danced better. They both threw everything into it and delivered their aces. Wishing Georgia the best - I'm sure she will have a wonderful career.

I remember the comment to Kimberley, daziechain, which I think was about their Prince tango??? Or maybe their fusion dance?? (You see how well I remember it! ) It was almost the same thing but not q u i t e because he said he'd put that particular routine on stage not Kimberley as such... For whatever -- if any -- difference that makes! His comment completely got through to Georgia though and to Gio -- the way he turned to her. Made my eyes leak a leetle too

I know ! Terribly flattering for her and basically a "you've got the job kid" moment . It means she is assured of future work should her telly acting career end (which it kind of has I suppose) . Doing west end shows is quite lucrative and a great chance for her to establish herself in something more than bit parts on telly .
Singing is the question, but the current trend is to use soap and TV people with a lot less talent than she has - because talent alone doesn't pull in audiences as it should.

Kara's doing the Sound of Music on ITV today - which needs a top singer , and the Judy Garland show is going out with someone from the Bill so there's plenty of scope. The problem is the industry's not that good at reusing who turns out to actually be good.. Ali Bastian was very good as Roxie, but hasn't done a musical since.

Yes it was a charming moment Can she sing? I imagine she's had some singing training but she might need some lessons to get herself to a high standard if she isn't there yet. It really did look like she'd jump at the chance to do some stage work, so hopefully this has got her noticed.

I remember Kimberley being thrilled (not sure when he said it ... on semi final night I think) and Caroline too last year when Darcey and Bruno said a similar thing. Georgia must have been so happy to hear it because it's obviously something she wants to do in future so it's complete affirmation.

I think Craig was being absolutely genuine. Georgia was amazing tonight, and she was alway my winner. She's more graceful than Kellie, who seemed a bit bow-legged and ungainly. Georgia managed to look classy and sophisticated compared to Kellie who always seemed a little brash and common, if that's an allowed word. She was excellent doing Nancy out of Oliver, and if she can sing, she'll get similar roles offered to her on the stage. I was shocked that Jay won, he didn't seem to try tonight, I really thought he'd blown it.

She just wasn't expecting it was she?

I know Georgia has been criticised by some on the forum for being too emotional but given her feelings are so close to the surface, she's actually done really well to be as controlled as she has. I imagine there were some tempestuous times in the training room tho

Every Roxie needs a Velma.......Roxie needs a hint of badness too, but I think Georgia could do that. And as you say there's a lot of Nancy roles too........
