It was a nice comment but it's a shame if one cannot discuss it, I shall remember not to discuss with you in the future.

Yes Georgia is a delight in real life, I know little of Kellie Bright but from the snippets I have seen she is an excellent actress... I.don't watch EE.

Yes there are a few, she was one of them. She has not worked since leaving Corrie btw which suggests to me that it would be unlikely.

I see nothing wrong with going on Strictly to up one's profile, they all have an agenda surely.

Nonsense, other than Kym Marsh and Tina O'brien all the others have been huge characters and have had huge storylines before taking breaks, and all have proved to be good at their parts.

I recall him saying the very same thing to Kimberley a few years back.

He said it to Kimberley after her American Smooth to Fever in the semi final.

Georgia only left Corrrie in 2015. Jay hasn't worked since The Wanted haitus began in January 2014 - he's been "having fun" for 18 months , a euphemism for being unemployed. SCD has made him realise how unappealing being a layabout is, so he now wants to get a job. Most people have ambition to work without going on a reality show.

Kellie in comparison was working a full-time job whilst doing SCD compared to Jay who had 18 months of "rest" coming into it and no other job during the run of the show.

Why are we discussing Jay? I applaud Kellie for her energy and determination and her sheer guts of working so hard, ok I don't like her dancing not even one little bit but that does not mean that I do not give her credit. I like Georgia a lot but Jeeze why is it so bad for me to say that I do not think she can act...............at all. I loved many of her dances too.

Jay is Jay and I have no idea of what he want's to do with his life, I have never even heard him sing, I loved his dancing and was totally mesmerised and imo he is the best male dancer strictly has had. I wont apologise for it. My liking Jay as a dancer has nought to do with disliking Georgia as an actress and I wish her all the luck in the world because she is lovely but this thread is ridiculous in the extreme for taking CRH's comment to mean that Georgia is the second comiing to acting and she will be a world class star when she clearly will not imo.

We are discussing Jay as a comparator. If Jay can have aspirations to go into theatre after totally bombing on the acting side of things on SCD and repeatedly being told by the judges that he can't emote, why can't Georgia (who is a much better actress than Jay) have similar aspirations? Georgia has already auditioned for and won a part in a long-running national soap, and was praised by the judges for her acting skills on SCD, plus indicatively offered a job by Craig. Only one poster said something about her taking over Broadway, everyone else was just pleased at Craig's offer and saying Georgia has a chance in theatre, which is very likely given many previous winners/finalists have gone on to the West End. Most posters have also caveated that her success will depend on whether she can sing. No one is calling her the "second coming".

I have no idea with regard to Jay's aspirations though as he can actually sing then I suppose it is credible. I do not agree btw that Jay has bombed on the acting side of his dancing, personally I found his emoting wonderfully just right. I really can't help Craig's predjudices I'm afraid. But anyhow this thread is not about Jay.

I really don't care enough to persue the matter any further as I have given my opinion on this thread and been abused for it, suffice to say that I wish Georgia good luck for her future as I do for all of them, it has been a wonderful series with a wonderful winner and they have all worked so hard to entertain us and deserve applause.

Very well said. Craig's comment was a really nice, positive moment, and people were happy for her. It's sad that such a positive gesture was turned into what a rubbish actress Georgia is without any hope in theatre vs she has a pretty good chance to try her chops and get an offer soonish. It was even mentioned in this thread that she's ambitious as a negative trait to have.

+100 As ever, it'll be interesting to see what people go on and do. For some being on the series changed their career (Kara T), for others it gave them a love of dance (Deborah Meaden, her husband has now taken lessons and they go dancing together), and in some cases they've gained long-term friendships. We just don't know at this stage.

Absolutely and her three dances covered a wider range of dance ability than Kellie IMO. Two Charlestoney-type dances is not really on, is it.
Team GG should have won.

In my opinion (being a dance teacher and having them go into the theatre in the west end), Jay, for all his technical potential, doesn't have enough to be in the west end.

I saw him say he has designs on something like that on Lorraine, however, I know many on here who have loved Jay and hated Kellie for these very reasons, but on stage, you have to project to the gods. That person sitting in the very back seat of the top circle has to see your emotion as much as those in the stalls. You have to sell the dance and yourself and there is no place for being too precious to repeat a dance.

For me, and I have enjoyed some of his dancing, but he doesn't have it, could be wrong, but you really need to be a triple threat to do well.

I hate to nit pick (actually, that's not quite true) but Jay didn't say anything about wanting to go into the theatre on the Lorraine show. She brought it up and he deflected the comment.

For what it's worth, I do partly agree with you though. I don't think he has anything like enough training or experience to do theatre work at the moment. The same goes for Georgia too, sorry .

That's fine, nitpick away, I love to too!
I agree, but he did say he wishes to do more with dance, which is pretty limited as a career and would pretty much only be on the stage, he's not likely to go into backing dancing in music videos.

Georgia, I could see if the right part came up, hey if someone like Kelly Osbourne can do Chicago, then someone who can actually dance can too. I don't know if she can sing though, but I would imagine she has been in voice lessons at performing arts schools.
We'll see, I think Georgia is a quick study, her early dances were awful, but she took on board what she was instructed to do and even did her own study in watching Jo Clifton to try to emulate her. I don't know if she could carry a show, maybe in a few years time.

Kelly Osbourne played Mama Morton though (unfortunately I had the misfortune to see her ) rather than Velma/Roxie.

Time will tell if theatre work pans out for either of them. West End choruses are packed with people that trained at Arts Ed, Mountview, Guildhall. There are very few 'stunt' casting shows already up and producers don't take risks on casting unproven 'names' in new shows - too much money at stake.

Good luck to Georgia in whatever path she choses next though.

Her acting wasn't bad at all. Her role was poorly written because unfortunately her character was just a plot device to give a stoyline to Chesney and they changed her personality every five minuets to suit the plot. That was not to do with Georgia's acting at all more to do with lazy script writing.
